I was curious about this too, and I believe that all ammo types slow enemies when you hit them. The Apex wiki page for "Ammo" says nothing about differences in slowing affects, a tweet by Sean Slayback, former lead designer for Apex Legends says, "All Ammo types will slow down enemies when you hit them." and I've scrolled through all the patch notes from Apex using
CTRL + F keyword "slow" to see any sort of reference to ammunition slows. Only thing that's popped up was Gibralter and Caus, who are immune to slows.

@pastaclown Now i am only 0% correct, I guess heavy shots just feel like they weigh me down more than other shots.
That being said, I barely notice it when I get hit as I really only get snipped by longbows or wingmans and not much else when running.
