This is the correct answer. The duration would be about the same as the grab is today, and makes it easier to do exactly what you want to with the death box.
Unfortunately this has some problems of its own. For example if you're with randoms it opens up the option for them to just loot your box without taking your banner. I think a good compromise would be for the game to automatically take the banner when entering a teammates box, you get the shield swap or whatever you need in the heat of the moment and then when you exit the box it does the animation so you duck behind cover. It still could get you killed sometimes, but it would be better than the current system where you have to wait for the animation before you can swap.

- @N19htf0x thats an ez fix, you can only grab stuff if the banner is picked up first with, Body Shields being the expection allowing for shiled swaps without taking the banner first.
Perhaps you could have some amount of shields when you grab that banner or speed boost?
