Remove The Helmet & Have The Bodyshield Cover The Whole Body

Whats the point in the helmet, if it breaks, you still need to break the body shield. Just make them both into one armour.

  • @SmallZzy Helmets only mitigate headshot damage, they don't work like the body shields do. Also, picking up a purple body shield should not automatically give you purple helmet level head protection.
  • @EryxApex HELMETS ARE CONFUSING! You shoot a damn guy with a perfect skullpierced longbow... what do you see... body armor breaking lolz. Why and how would body armor break if you shoot head xD

I know in the beginning there was so much confusion about this...
  • @Koochi-Q my thoughts exactly but after looking over some titanfall lore the helm completes the field of protection so when they break your armour they are destroying the protection field not that specific piece.

Helmets kind of fall into that category of something you need and not something you want. I still think that their use is specific enough that they are still needed as a separate piece of equipment.

  • @Cabowse @ can you please explain how the helmets work to mitigate damage and if/how they get recharged?  Or attach a link to a specific discussion?

@Koochi-Q @mentioned some confusion about how that worked and gave the longbow headshot example where it broke body shields.

So using that example (forget the hop up), if I were to shoot an enemy with level 3 helmet and body shield in the head, how much damage would it take to eliminate them?

Same scenario but with no helmet, just level 3 shields?

How about if the helmet has been "broken", can it be recharged?  Or does the helmet always mitigate headshot damage until the player is eliminated?

    Hopefully those questions make sense.

@xIronFist42x The helmet just applies damage reduction vs headshots. So all damage applies to your armor, but if you're wearing a helmet headshots have LESS of a multiplier.
  • @xIronFist42x  So without a helmet you take 200% crit damage from a headshot. The actual damage figures vary by weapon so no point going into that. As stated there's no regeneration required with them theyre just a flat out damage reduction to the noggin.

    Common: 30% reduction.

    Rare:40% reduction.

    Epic:50% reduction.

Legendary:50% reduction +a cooldown reduction on abilities and ultimates.

    Hope this helps.
