Here is something for you
These are some screen shots from arenas matches. I picked arenas because not only do I generally do better in that mode, I thought it would be easier to get closer to opponents.
I am the Maggie.
The first one is of a NO AA match where I was focused solely on getting close range damage as much as possible ending with 655.
The second is another NO AA match where I was trying for any kind of damage, close, long knocked players. As you can see we were severely out matched by our scores and lack of kills and assist. 343 dmg.
The third is an AA match where at first I was solely focused on getting close ranged damage, we were about to lose it was the last round and if it had ended like I thought, I would have ended with 480 dmg. 480! That's less than my NO AA attempt. However we started making a come back, I started using Maggie's drill more and even started doing long ranged damage and even got a couple hits with a care package 30-30. It ended up being a good match. Ending with 787 dmg.
And the last one ended up being my actual sole attempt of an AA close range dmg bout. I tried to get as much as I could and still ended with 523 dmg.
I used the alternator (except for when I picked up the 30-30) in all of these matches, upgrading it as much as I could each round.
All in all it's been a very hard thing to even attempt to test out with such inconsistent lobbies.
Having no AA my close range was indeed sloppy, but seeing the results I really don't think it ranges much differently than with the AA on.
I spent a good amount (more than I usually play) last week playing with it off and it seems turning it back on my aim assisted aim has improved a tad bit.
Even before, my average range for damage was anywhere between 200 and 600. Only hitting 1k twice.
I'm always the one getting the least damage, idk if thats because I choose to run alt over more powerful guns or my crap aim, both, or what.
I honestly don't expect you or anyone to believe any of this or for it to even matter because I'm not some pro who knows everything, but there it is.
