I have to say that your honeymoon period with good and balanced teammates was the exception in this game and not the rule. The solo queue experience in Apex is almost always one very experienced player, one who has a thousand matches and who thinks that makes him experienced, and a third who just started playing a week ago and who will follow the second to any center of map hot drop like a puppy. And you will feel subjectively that you are playing against platinum/diamond three stacks.
In the game's defense, I'm finding this season's matchmaking to be far better than it has ever been before, in this game or any other. I still have wide disparities on my own squad, but the skill curve in the lobby is showing very consistent tight matches, and that promise is reflected in the gameplay experience. It's still rough on my less-experienced squadmates, but I no longer feel like every single match has a foregone conclusion that involves instantaneous deletion from a master level three stack.
So take the good with the bad. And don't try ranks without a stack. There just isn't any point.
