S21 review
I'll start with a HUGE thank you for solos mode. Lovin that and for me makes BR worthwhile to actually play
Thank you for fixing the crashing issues on switch. It is back to normal now. Still happens albeit rarely, and never on any one identifiable issue.
Here's the bad:
Still an issue where if I party up, I typically face pred or cheater lobbies. Or, ALC is disabled, or something to basically guarantee a one sided fight with a win rate still<1 in 20 on average.
Mixtape is only 50%playable. Lockdown is the worst. Especially with your matchmaking. Gun run is not a favorite either. Plus there was hype pre season release about arenas returning. Can we just do away with the concept of mixtape and just provide the different modes at all times? One would think you'd get an accurate picture of what people want. Nothing worse than logging in only to see it's not worth playing for 30 minutes because horrible modes are currently active. I respect what is horrible for me is awesome for someone else, but I would like to see some choice.
Settings seem to reset or otherwise change with each season. I'd like that to stop. I want to play, not spend an hour or so every season recalibrating my controller settings.
Matchmaking is still atrocious, however the ratio of good vs bad matches has improved. At least I have had some that although I lost, the match was enjoyable.
Don't know if this is an improvement to offset the cheating, but if it is a feature, kudos are in order. I have noticed now that it seems when cheaters are detected and reported by multiple players, we are able to leave the match without penalty. I would like to see enforcement efforts improve though. I have yet to see an actual live ban. Only time I see it is with twitch streamers.
Gameplay is not consistent. When ALC is working, I'm fairly decent, but controls NEVER feel the same from one match to the next.
Server latency is still terrible, but has improved somewhat. At least I haven't had to use Australian servers yet from Canada.
People abandoning games and in the case of LD and GR, when left as the last player playing solo, I cannot leave game without penalty. That has to change.
Solos has a stacking problem. Several matches I have seen collusion and cooperation. As per usual, reporting does nothing. 3+ vs 1 is never fair. I saw a 6-stack yesterday.
Tick rate combined with server latency is making for some really weird effects including perception of bullets traveling around or through walls. Lack of damage points registering even though you can see and. Hear the hits, and finally extremely small if not nonexistent hit boxes on opponents.
Don't know how this is happening, and I suspect it is a new cheat, because it seems to be players with very obvious ESP and aim snap that has this, but it takes over 350 damage to takeout a white level opponent. I'm on a switch, so I cannot clip it, but surely other players have noticed.
There is still a lot more work to be done, but it is nice to see that this season has some noticeable improvements.
