Season 20 release is terrible!
Just freed up my whole summer. Can't even articulate how disappointing the changes to game play are.

100% there with you. Been playing since launch, but solidly average and odd playing times mean I’m stuck playing solo. It’s been bad in the past, but this is a whole new level of impossible. Win rate had consistently been 5%-6% every season, now it’s barley over 1%!!! Forget about k/d/r. Honestly don’t know why I’m still playing. Don’t know if cheating is out of control or just a new sadistic matchmaking. Whatever it is, it’s like they are trying to force a particular cohort of players (average, solo) to quit.
This is me, Some combo of matchmaking, changes to the game and player mindset but season 20 has been a miserable experience. I don't mind the changes in a vacuum but they seem to make the other issues stand out even more.
This is coming from someone who's played since day 1 and for the most part thought matchmaking complaints were overblown until now. Apex has been my main game for 5 years and very often while solo queing. Lately I have next to no interest to log in and know it'll be the same BS in one form or another and maybe get 1 decent match out 10-15. And when I do squad up with even 1 other person suddenly every other squad is a master+ 3 stack. I don't know what they did to their matchmaking this season but I'll probably be done with this game if it doesnt sort itself out soon.
- @ExtentAK51 All the new devs do is make nice and shiny recolored crap. They have no interest in fixing the game, since last I understood several seasons ago they fired the original devs, quality and beta testers, and judging by how this season is going I think they fired their entire networking department. They just want to keep pumping out new flashy crap thinking that's what's going to get the money, rather than understanding the fact that those of us that have been in this game for the Long haul, would probably financially support it if they'd fix their issues. OverWatch and fortnite are starting to look a lot more appealing at this point
I don't think the shield and crafting changes are bad, but smurfing, cheaters, and matchmaking has all gotten much worse. The game is completely unplayable as a solo queue player anymore. You just drop in and get killed immediately over and over again. It is horrible.
The game gets hacked during the ALGs, and EA/Respawn releases more cosmetics, meanwhile in the store one of the items is at a 0% discount.
Yep, I've spent a good amount on this game over the years. I was hardly a whale that'd buy out every collecton event but If there was a skin I really liked for my mains I"d grab it more often than not, or randomly do a pack bundle every so often. Not anymore. Not spending a dime on this garbage untl they can at least get matchmaking in a semi playable state. Played with a friend just today. 10 matches in a row of dying to master/pred players. Switched to ranked and actually did well vs people around my skill level, wild concept. Ive seen them be obsessed with matchmaking times in the past, they need to focus on quality over quickness or at least find some balance. I'm wondering if theyre focusing on just slapping together the quickest matches possible out of the whole player retention paranoia of people logging off if they arent instantly thrown back into a match upon que.
- @ExtentAK51 yeah pubs are unplayable since s16 if you have a positive KDA.
Ranked lobbies are super easy until diamond then you get the cheater / 300ping players from a certain country that destroy everything.
