Legit players should be better off playing on their own premium servers. It does a good job at filtering those freeloader cheaters in CSGO.
Yes, some people could still cheat with BattlEye On, even though its is probably the best third party AC out there... but why do you think Rainbow six feels fair to play? It because of paywall.

As far as iv seen the game is dominated by console players ( i believe 60% of the entire apex plager base is console ) so aimassist or crossplay will NEVER be disabled.
When it comes to mine/oure faforite shooter there is you got 2 options
Accept the most awesome fps is a pile ot crap that caters too cheaters and unfair gameplay/matchmaking
Or leave the game.
The dev wont care and neither will EA they made their money..
ASIA = Esper legends, it's so obvious when you play from trios to duos, the aim skill of players drop significantly
