"an upgrade wont bring any meaningful improvement" = lies. Its just about they want to save money and not bring the best possible experience to us.
The way I see it. There are no real game devs left to take care for this game. Only "content creators" for skins, map updates, emots, charms and so on.
See how long does it take for them to fix an issue that they one fixed - Loba bracelet not working.
They don't have devs, they are working on other titles like latest Star Wars game, probably they are relocating them to Apex ad hoc.
This game is on life support.
