I am new to this game and currently level 22 with a KDR of 1.01, which is steadily declining, and you are matching me with level 70+ players with thousands of kills. Do you want to alienate new players? we need time to develop our skill and dying in the first 5 mins of every game is not the way to do that. Please fix!!!!

There's definitely a matchmaking system in casual.Some time ago I created a smurf account to help a friend into diamond.Ranking the smurf account up to level 10 (so I could play ranked) was hilariously easy as most opponents were complete potatoes. For a time I was averaging 10 kills per match! ( On my main account it's around 2.5)I don't know if the casual matchmaker simply uses your account level, or maybe something more complex involving matches played, win rate, or K/D.

@IamDigicide they have skill based match making in normal matches already. I dont know anyone that wants it. It literally makes the game unplayable with friends.

Are you sure? I heard rumors about it but I never saw an official statement from Respawn and I cant really see it based on my own experience. Do they base it on K/D, level, rank or another stat? Im like lvl 600, 9.6 k kills, 2.7 K/D but whenever I just jump in and play with randoms, I dont feel like most people are around my skill lvl tbh.
Maybe its a very soft matchmaking then, separating the veryworst from the very best ?

You could be at least partially right, from what I have experienced as a brand new player. Levels 1 to 20 I would say the matchmaking system seemed accurate, similar level, skill etc. After level 20 I started noticing that i was being thrown to the wolves and it became quite frustrating. So maybe the skill based matchmaking stops at level 20? if that is the case i think they should make it across the board instead of just at starting levels. It's not game breaking but it would make for a much more enjoyable experience, at least for me, and I am sure others out there as well. Anyway, just my two cents.

That new accounts get matched with new accounts was confirmed already in the early day. I remember that I created a new account before Battlepass, ranked or seasons even existed because I couldnt get more packs after reaching lvl 100 with my main and I wanted to Wraith Heirloom.

Back then, I played at a "2500 dmg badge-level" so to speak and on the fourth or fifth match on my new account, I got the 20 kill and 4k dmg badge =)

But I honestly dont notice a hard matchmaking in casual for my ordinary account

Why is the Skill based matchmaking so hard? I played the game in its beginnings and experienced almost half year of its development. I had around 2.4 KD and 550 average damage. I came back and started playing again. My skill mostly came back but KD damage and all fun dissapeared. Every game I get matched with super good people and i have little to no chance in killing them. My aim is on point, I have the movement and gamesence skills but the people i get matched against are always good and it just makes the game almost unplayable. Before there were good and bad teams in the lobby and it made the game more enjoyable. I m not against skill based matchmaking but it just feels as ranked even in normal games.

@TomasLegendd They first need to answer the question why is there even skill based matchmaking if we have a ranked option in game. And i tottally agree u cant do nothing in game anymore i also have some good sense of the game play and a lot of kills but the amount of good players just messed everything up.

Between the charge rifle and the Skill Based MM this game is no longer fun to play. I'm an avg player and get all 2,3,4k plus 20 kill badges in my lobby. You can tell most are using M/K it sucks.

After reading the article I decided to put it to a test. For the last several weeks or months whichever I keep getting placed with very low level players. Who are lucky to break 100 damage in game. Yet the squads we are facing all have 2K killbadges.
So I started a scrub account and played against other sub 20 level players. At level 10 to 15 I started seeing champion squads with max levels and the 4K kill badges. Now I can compete against people my own skill level and sometimes better. Other times I lose. But I think that this article is a little misleading because how on earth can you bring a rank 10 to 15 into a squad where there are these predators and say there is matchmaking?

to be clear on my smurf account I am being humble and not super aggressive. I have my other account that is for that. This was just to test my theory, since on my other account I would consider it aggressive I am constantly lobbied with noobs whether it is casual or ranked.

In all fairness to Respawn I know this is a balance issue. From my perspective there really hasn’t been any matchmaking in the squad lobby, but it sure feels like they are matching opponents based on the strongest squad mate. Which brings us back to solos. What is the point of grouping people like this?

A better solution would be premades have their own lobby and random fill their own lobby.

To add to what I posted here is a random casual game.
sorry about the blurry photos, but you can clearly see my teammates are super aggro type players. Which I am fine with. Also just based on the champion it looks to be a sweaty lobby. Again I am fine with that. But how can you qualify this as skill based matchmaking? Any given stat on my profile is nowhere near the levels these guys had.

for me I kept up in game and it was ok. But if I was truly new to the game this on a regular basis would * me off. And I would be leaving Apex. Again there has to be a balance and IDC what anyone working for Respawn has to say right now because it is clearly missing. Stack a level 18 in a lobby of tryharda fine. Just don’t put out there that you have sbmm. Because clearly you don’t.
