I don't really see why this is necessary.
Repositioning is important yes, this is why we have legend abilities that make this process much easier.
Whilst you are proposing a weaker version, it's still pretty much the same thing, just in a smaller amount.
If you find smokes important then you pick bangelore, the strength of a team and it's abilities is decided by which legends you have selected.
Scans are an ability, not something you can pick up.
Suddenly you are required to have a certain legend to counter this, so why shouldn't a smoke stay legend only as you would need a specific set of legends for your specific playstyle?
Doesn't really seem fair that you are required to use an ability to counter a non-ability.
(Grenades + gun interactions with shields are different, these are intended to counter non-abilities)
I understand implementing new things into a game to keep it fresh is good, though I don't see any reason at all to implement this at all as it already exists within the game as an ability.
Repositioning is important, too bad Seer's wallhack abilities makes that whole part of warfare obsolete.
My left click is sprint, my right click is crouch.... what now?
