I absolutely don't agree with an idea of lowering TTK in Apex. As I said in another thread, whenever I want to play a BR where everyone can be killed in a blink of an eye I can play PUBG. Short TTK in there heavily encourages stealthy and campy play styles in which core objective is to basically end the fight before it starts because of how huge the first shot advantage is. In Apex everyone almost always have a chance to regroup and have a proper fight which generally leads to way more fun and action-filled games. Whatever your opinion on PUBG is (don't get me wrong, I really like PUBG and the macro aspect it brings, especially on Erangel), Apex is clearly meant to be different.
I also agree with @xMaracmanx's position on high TTK not meaning lower skill gap. I think people that argue that low TTK == high skill gap are very confused about what skill to count in what context. As in comparing Apex to CSGO because of how much easier it is to win 1v3 in the latter, or even worse, to deathmatch. This is a flawed argument. In almost any proper team game the best player is the one that plays as part of the team. A hockey player that scores the most goals is not necessarily an MVP. Even in CSGO players are not really rated based on how they can solo a bunch of enemies. In Apex it should be even less of a measure because of the presence of support characters that are totally not meant to go Rambo. It is simply more of a team game and skill in it is ultimately about staying 3-strong, which is very fitting for BR since you all have to go through a longer journey together without dying than just a single round in CSGO after which you all respawn. If you lost 2 teammates while your enemy is 3-strong then you've failed as a team. Your best play in that case is usually to collect the banners and go for a Respawn Beacon, not play Rambo. Just as a selfish hockey player who wants to score all the goals himself, guys that seek to 1v3 squads are not who I'd personally call great at this game. And yes, sometimes that is exactly what you have to do but that's besides the point. If your teammates happen to suck I don't think you should be able to basically say "screw you guys" and play without them.
And then if we look at 1v1 fights, here I think longer TTK clearly means higher skill gap overall as the longer the fight goes the more opportunities there are for various skills to come through, including more opportunities to overcome the difference in gear level. You can't just sit in a bush and kill a guy in 0.3 seconds without giving him a chance to fight back.
Lower kill time = An advantage to campers with good aim!
Low kill time works in games like CS:GO where you switch sides and get to experience the advantage of either attacking or defending depending on the map against the opponent.
