Yes it is true that more hp means players need to maintain aim for longer periods of time, but at the same time this gives the player being shot at more time to react to being outplayed, thus compressing the skill gap. I wouldn't say needing to aim a target for a longer period of time equate to needing more skill, if players could pop in and kill someone like you said, they'd still need to have great mechanical skill due to the threat of the other player being equally able to kill you just as quickly. So it's basically a wash as far as needing to maintain aim for longer. Shooting in place leaves you more exposed, makes your position more well known to the enemy the longer you shoot. Slower character movement hampers those "good" player's ability (mechanical skill) to quickly escape or change position. It takes away their potential for quickly repositioning. Slow games like Apex Legends don't really allow for that outside of sometimes using an ability like Wraith's ghost move and Mirage's invisibility ultimate.
Topic should be: Why do some people want low kill times.
There is no way to get an opinion from everyone, probably less than 1% are active on these forums and reddit, rest just play the game.
Go and modify the game too much and the silent majority will simply stop playing if it does not feel good.
TTK isn't a problem, go look at some high skilled streamers, they absolutely wreck people in a very short time... Consistently.

yes streamers that have a full team that don't play solo

You could also say dont modify the game and the silent majority will simply stop playing as right now the TTK does not feel good, also with laggy players on 10hz servers = a joke. Most games have 30hz min. If respawn dont do something the player base they have now will just go away

I've been of the silent group for a lot of other games, but I felt the need to speak up for this game, as I have lost a lot of games over the years to vocal groups on the internet who get their wish for changes no one i knew asked for, thus making me hate the game for what it has become and moving on. I'm very tired of moving on though, I have never played a game and went on a forum and demanded it be changed, i either liked it for what it was, or did not and moved on and let people who enjoy that, have it. So I never understand why people demand big changes of how a game plays. But for some reason their is always a "lower the ttk" crowd, even though they have A LOT of games to fill that desire. I suspect most of the time anyway that the people who want change the most are fly by night players anyway who are unlikely to stick with it even after getting what they want, cause again, they have a lot of other options in that avenue anyway.

Yup I agree on all fronts, if you want low ttk br you got a veritable smorgasboard, let this be what it is.
- 7 years agoI think part of why shooting players doesn't feel rewarding is because you can get into a gunfight with another player and the both of you will expend entire mags and wind up reloading at the same time just jumping around while looking straight at each other. That's not fun or rewarding. I think this though, is because players need to find purple mag attachments in order to get a somewhat reliable clip size. This is also partly why the Spitfire is a popular gun, it has a much larger mag size than most guns.
- 7 years agoIMO, it feels "rewarding" enough as is. You simply have to be more accurate with your shots or use melee to finish off somebody.

I never played another PvP FPS where finishing firefights with melee were as much of a thing as in here. And that's yet another example of how this higher TTK enriches the gameplay as well as broadens the skill sets because you have to be able to judge whether the enemy is low enough to go for it and whether you are in a position to pull it off.

Perhaps once you're a bit more skilled, such as going competative, this can be implimented?
Fortnite - you can't insta kill people.
PUBG - you can't insta kill people.
Ops - you can't insta kill people.
Only games I've seen where you die extremely fast? BFV and CS:GO.
Until you go into competative modes, or something like that... I don't see the need to adjust anything.
You're asking for EA to completely flush out, or get rid of, the average player due to competativeness.
I think the amount of shots to kill a player is perfect. Some guns need to be nerfed a bit, but that will come in time. - 7 years ago
I have to disagree with alot of comments saying a 2 man team can't kill a 3 man team combo as me and a friend duo'd most games yesterday as most of our 3rd randoms kept dc'n or running off on their own and dying then diconnecting, we won a few games and we placed top 5 several times with 15 or more kills between us at times the games fine and people just need to readjust themselves to the game NOT try and readjust the game to their needs.
