This game lacks of solo and duos. Making people to play in party with randoms is a good idea, but forcing them to do so is not. Sometimes its possible to find a great teammates and win a game with them, but its extremly rarely. Even if you are playing with 1 friend in squad its mostly hard to comminicate with 1 random guy with or without voice chat.
Please consider adding Solos and Duos.
How would adding a solo/duo affect you people who don't want it??? Are you all worried about splitting the population between modes? I can't wrap my mind around all you people who are so against it. Dose of reality for you...Games population will diminish quickly without these other modes and then there wont be anyone to queue with in 3-man either. Me personally I play with a 3 man half the time but when friends go to bed It usually ends up with just 2 of us. Playing with a rando every single match and never having them communicate or follow us gets old very quick. It just ends up with me and my buddy vs the rest of the 3 man squads. Nobody in their right mind wants to play that way and it's god damn infuriating.
As for the "squad mechanics" serving no purpose in solo, WHO CARES! The game will play 100% the same solo. You don't need those mechanics.
Play your 3-man mode and shut the * up!
I think it is in part due to the potential slippery slope. Imagine the game features Solo mode and it will became more popular than all the other. The devs would then start to cater to the solo mode while the squad mode would suffer for it. And eventually the game could devolve into just another BR game with nothing that makes it its own.
I am not against them adding it, though I think it doesn't need it.
But I also understand the reason why it wasn't there for the launch was exactly to teach people the point of Apex Legends are squad battles, not solo play. That is the design of it.
If the solo mode was there from the release, many new people would just automatically play it as a default, instead of playing the intended squad mode.
They need to teach people Trio is The Default.

Yes it will. It will Hurt respawn and the market they are trying to draw in.
The game will also become broken. The kits for each legend is designed to be balanced by being placed into squads. They have already said this.
Secondly this isnt the only game the forces team play. Overwatch forces you into a team of 6. Left 4 dead forced you into a team of 4. Counter Strike you have to play on a team and so does Team Fortress. These games demand team play.
If you dont like playing any of these games then you probably wont like this game.
I've read through all the replies on this thread, and there have been a few people stating that they think the addition of solos/duos would be a good addition to this game, because they don't want to play with crappy random players. As a crappy random player, I agree with them. I've played four matches so far, and I've only downed two people. In the last game I played, I died before dealing any damage, and my teammates had some choice words to say about me before I left. I don't blame them for being angry, because I'm terrible, and have no place being on a team in the first place. If I were able to practice and get a little better by playing solo mode, I wouldn't be a parasite leeching off the skills of my teammates, and ruining their overall experience. A few people have said that they'll be adding solo mode to the game soon, and I hope that's true. I don't mind being bad at a multiplayer game if I'm the only one being affected by that, but being the cause of anger and frustration in others isn't fun for me.
