steam input issue

ive been having an issue where if i use steams input layout, it registers my dualsense as an xbox controller, ive tried every possible way to fix the issue but it still persist. So i keep apex as default layout. Only issue of it is, i have to keep my controller plugged in before i start up apex to even get my controller to detect in the game. Please EA, as a suggestion can you add a controller layout option to your game, to switch between xbox, playstation or nintendo layouts. It would be so useful
