Suggestion: remove self-speaking dialogues

When your whole squad is down but you're still alive, all characters keep talking to themselves.

Which usually happens on the end of the games, when timers warning densifies.

If anyone from Respawn is reading this: this is SUPER annoying when concentrating.

Listening to footsteps and positions, ambient noises, crates, and focusing on audio when you're alone is especially cringy, when your character keeps making super loud voices.

I currently have dialogue set to 1% (yes, one percent) and it still makes so much noise that it covers half the rest of the game audio.

Of course, this would remove some authenticity, but really it's worth a try. This has been annoying day 1.

Cheers.

  • @Doc2FX Lifeline telling herself she's got extra supplies from the supply bin I'm looking at. Thanks department of redundancy department.

Yeah I don't need a legend telling themselves out loud things I know are happening. If no squad or squad is dead then zip it~!

  • Actually, they should allow us to disable everything non-essential, or better yet allow us to customize what kind of dialogue you want to hear. I know that kids thinks its funny but this is supposed to be a competitive fps. So much of the dialogue is 100% unnecessary for the communication. Why would I need to know if my Horizon teammate jumped down and got a "soft landing". In my last game, I died because this Horizon character started to blabbing about something totally unnecessary with her stupid Irish accent just when the enemy team pushed, which made me mistake which level of the building the footsteps were coming from.

A bit off topic but on the same subject of competitiveness/seriousness of the game; I think they also should remove the names over the legends and instead make teammate identification 100% by the current highlighted outline but even more pronounced, like thicker or stronger colors.  Its so stupid when you run a bit behind your teammates and all you can see is their names, covering 60% of the entire horizon in front of you...Names in this game is 100% useless when the match has started. You never refer to your random Pathfinder as "CoolGamer66"; you just say Pathfinder etc.

  • I do not mind most of these but there are a few that I hate. For example, when the announcer says that a Care Package is coming down... guess what? The characters repeat what the announcer just said like 1 second before. Yeah I find that annoying.

@Balladalidila Even more annoying is you and a downed teamate trying to get low and hide and you revive him in some dark corners of Kings' Canyon and Schmucks at the other end of Horizon can hear you scream "OK, keep calm, I'm here...".
This is WAR, you don't get yourself noticed or you die.

@Balladalidila First of all Horizons accent is Scottish, also "wow" a name above your teammate is making hard for you to see - #pr0 tip -dont hide behind teammates using them for a shield..., you know there is a setting in audio to mute dialogues, but hey its easier to complain than setting things up :o talking about what stupid is... #"wow"
