I didn’t initially realize that it’s already possible for anyone to participate in ALGS through the Open Qualifiers, which does allow players to experience tournament-style games — although typically only for a short period, since most teams are eliminated early.
Because of that, a mode like this could serve as a more accessible and repeatable practice environment for teams interested in ALGS-style competition. It could also help familiarize the broader player base with how ALGS is normally played, in terms of pacing, decision-making, and end-game setups. As a longer-term possibility, strong performance in this mode could even be explored as a way to qualify teams beyond the Open Qualifiers.
At the very least, it could increase overall awareness of ALGS and better connect everyday play with the competitive ecosystem.
