TAKE SBMM OUT OF THE GAME
I’m just one person who doesn’t matter but take skill based match making (SBMM) out of the game, it makes it unplayable and unenjoyable. I can’t play the game with my friends because they torched in ...
They (EA) had a patent out for a matchmaking system that keeps players playing longer and spending more money... want to know how it worked? Let them win one game and then make them lose a few in a row...
Ea claims this is NOT how apex matchmaking works; however, that is ALWAYS how it feels playing solo. The game gives you two competent teammates and you roll everyone. Then the next three matches in a row you get the worst players in the game with likely .1/1 KDR and 100 avg dmg. It's night and day. Then a few games of that trash alter you get two competent teammates and roll everyone again... It also seems to give you 1 controller player now. Seems to spread them out 1 to each team. That can also be a big hit to your success now... very few of the controller players can actually do decent damage. Most just run straight at people like it's COD lol.
TLDR; it definitely feels like there is some kind of algorithm in place "spreading the talent around."
@bbanks-UTI had the same situation but instead of a few matches. LETS JUST SAY 20 GAMES IN A ROW? 20 GAMES LOST IN A ROW TO TERRIBLE TEAMMATES AND FIGHTING PEOPLE THAT HAVE BEEN IN MASTERS. While solo queueing as well
Maximum player retention time, i challenge anyone with doubts about SBMM to make a new account play with it until level 30 ( do not go into ranked) always try to analyze lobbies for plyers levls for reference.
Upon reaching a conclusion (you will get what am implying here) just do 1 Ranked mach ( one should be enough but for the sake of assurences make it to bronze 2 ) and hop into 2/3 games of pubs and you will have your answers.
I have tested this across multiple new accounts (a statically significant sample ) and yes there is something behind the scenes.
My main account (from day 1 apex) is just pure sweat Pubs and Ranked
My 2nd account created in 2021 is a Pubs melter a breeze all the way to gold 1 ( once you hit plat everything changes to sweat mode on) destroying entire lobbies is extremely easy, with more game time it is becoming more and more like my main account.
All new accounts created in 2021 follow the 2nd account (in the beguiling around 15 days of game time) lobbies destroyed with 0 effort all these accounts have now significantly higher kd compared to my main ( not all of them further explanation a head), win/loss ratio is laughable, team mates are balanced (number wise not skill wise a lot of carrying happens on these), even with a month of game time in the "non sweat " accounts (where a i do my best no to have good stats i.e. low number o kills and try to never go above G4, not vey many big damage games)
Small note: i ran 4 kinds of accounts for this experiment:
- Send it, where i played as best as i could all the time long game sessions
- (above)Average. just sweating in ranked mode never more than 3hours a session
- Below average, low number of kills, average amounts of damage, very high win/loss ratio never progressing past G4 in ranked never more than 3 hours a session
- funny ones, very low kills, as much damage as possible, lots of assists, ranked progression as far as possible while respecting previous conditions, short game sessions 1 to 1 and half hour( every time things i started to get bad team mates i would immediately stop the session.
This is a very very short version of the criteria for categories and methodology that am currently using, this hardly proves anything as i do not have access to many other data points i would require to make an a solid conclusion!!!!!
The truth is the better i do on a given account ( with similar in game time usage and number of games the faster things get sweaty this means that sbmm is in deed working but , and oh yeah here comes the but, there is "something" on the back end.
Have been able "to tip" the odds in my favor (team composition wise) more now than ever before, what i mean is i can increase the odd's of having a decent team instead of me carrying 2 players that don't know the ins and outs of the game and should have never been placed on my team( referencing to "send it" and "above average" accounts) as they are not in the same skill bracket as those accounts ( when talking about ranked a lot of players shouldn't even be at that rank much less (this becomes more prevalent in G1 plat and above)). On the other hand my "below average accoutns usually end up in teams where at least one of the players knows his/hers stuff pretty well.
More and more i believe that SBMM works but there is also something else running there to what end ? i can only speculate.
@SgtVolcom117Oddly enough, I have run my own tests across about 25 accounts and my results have been somewhat similar. I know E9ine has run his own tests and has his own results.
SBMM is certainly working differently for different accounts— but the fact remains that accounts with stats in high volumes tend to be locked into the crazy 65%+ Master/Pred Pub lobbies.
Of course, we will never get transparency from the devs on this issue because it runs counter to their mission of maximizing profits. If people knew how to exploit the matchmaking, this would result in weaker skilled players losing more (which correlates to their ability to maximize profit margins).
TL;DR for under average players:
Even if you feel like matchmaking is killing you, please know that (believe it or not), you are still being protected because the majority of high skilled players are being lumped together in pubs. And these lobbies are ruthless, lmao.
