Teammate fully left. Still minus RP

We had a couple bad fights because our wraith kept running away, but then the horizon left and it just showed us two. We get into a fight and die (obviously) but it shows -31 instead of 0? He was gone for a good couple minutes and not just disconnected.

I remember quitting like this gave you forgiveness. Why did they revert it or is it a bug?
