Sorry, have to agree with the others. There are already plenty of faster games out there, including those you named, and this one has already been sped up over the years. The average br match used to hit 20 or even 21 minutes on the timer. Now they barely get to 18.
And the 18 minutes is already barely enough to loot, hit your evo harvesters (if you're that kind of player), and make your position, especially if you're an edge dropper. In fact I would argue that every major change of the last few seasons (evo only shields, shorter timer, higher damage late rings, ever thinning loot, even the design of the new map) are all part of a larger move to make you feel subjectively as if you are always on the run, always in danger, and don't have the time you might like to prepare yourself for the endgame. I would say that they are trying everything they can think of to accommodate players who want a faster game.

With 18 minutes you have time to waste on camping and wandering, as is my expirience.
I don't dont games should go past 14-15 minutes, especially when you're playing for points and your team ends up killing themselves or you get 3rd partied.
If you feel 14+ minutes is too long, then this isn't the game you want to play.
Generally speaking, a video game can only cater to a few emotive aesthetics, perhaps 4 or 5 at best. BR is a natural for exploration, which by its very nature is best left to lengthier periods of play.
@MrGreenWithAGun You can definitely get good loot in that duration, especially with the loot box resets. As i've said, i love this game's concept and started playing in season zero. The current speed leaves to much room for camping, wandering, 3rd parties, and suffering garbage competitive teammates who kill themselves because they're too impatient to play carefully and strive for points.
This game is currently better causally but competitively, tactical shooters are better.
@MrGreenWithAGun As ive said, i love the concept of Apex. I started playing this game season 0, but i've gotten bored of the things that make the game less enjoyable competitively. Too much camping, wandering, and on top of that 3rd parites and bad ranked teammates. I've heard from many that its not a game in a good competitive and casual state, but its definitely better casually. I play many types of competitive games from TCGs, Tact shooters, fighters, but Apex is still the only BR i would like to play but longer matches are not worth the design of them game, especially when there's more enjoyable longer competitive games.

See, this is what I mean. If people are camping, that is their way of playing the game like it is chess.
Too often I have had to run after my teammate that would always stay way out in front of us, only to be ambushed. Our teammate wasn't thinking. The other team was.
This is a great game. I like the long periods between engagements. It allows me to think through options more clearly rather than just run run run.

A 15 minute match is a match where you have no option to land at the edge, it's center-only. You would have multi-squad pile ups by the dozen, and the same people calling out for a shorter timer would come right back and call out for some mechanism to prevent third partying. Not to mention that every single squad that made it to the top five would have place holder weapons that were missing most of their attachments. Of course, that wouldn't be a problem thanks to the new bin re-set, yet another mechanism I forgot about that's designed to rush things along and hand a freebie to players who dropped hot, didn't have time to loot because of all the shooting, but can now gear up despite their bad judgment. Terrible mechanic that needs to be removed from the game.
I'm not saying anyone is wrong if they prefer a shorter game, but I have to say that I like having the option to control the pace of play instead of just having squad after squad thrown at me with no time to breath and no time to plan the next move. Decisions made in the heat of battle are often wrong, if you're the kind of player who can even do both at once. Many are not.@reconzero You are greatly overexaggerating how this would affect where you land. People have already tested that walking across kings canyon takes 7 minutes. Also dropping hot is does not magically make you unable to loot, you can just leave the area after you're done being there or survive the chaos. I feel like you're playing this game too slow. Even before bin resets, i didn't feel like end game loot was bad and i dont mind maxing out the last players, i think its cool.

Walking across King's takes seven minutes. Assuming you don't meet any enemies in a bad or bottlenecked place, have to go through multiple POIs, or that your squadmates won't sabotage you by insisting on a fight they can't win in the spot farthest from the next circle. You now also have the possibility of enemies on every side, not just in front of you. Did I say "possibility?" I meant "probability." Oh, and add however much time you might need for looting. Unless your loot just lays itself out on your path. I can loot that way, but my squadmates never can. They either hit one building and then rush to a fight, or they hit every single bin they know of even if it means getting singed by the ring and coming into the circle in the middle of a four squad pile up.
I get it. You like a fast paced game. And I think an argument could be made in their favor if you were only talking about higher skilled lobbies. But none of these propositions are an over-exaggeration. You may or may not recall the faster ring timers of season... 14? But they were fast. I can't recall if we got to your target time of 15 minutes, but if not it was very close. People were quitting matches left and right based on nothing more than their drop plus the first ring. It was never that you couldn't make it. It was that you had to go through two engagements on the way with no time to loot as you sprinted across the map. It was pointless. I don't mind getting beat by a guy who has a positional advantage or better aim, but getting beat because I can't engage because I have two place-holder weapons and NO ammunition? That was why people quit. That was why the dev backed off the whole idea.
