The Heat Shields
Heat Shields exist solely for bad players to use.
You should be punished for being in a bad position. Youi should not be rewarded for going into the circle. You should be punished.

Let me guess, you lost your match because another team used a heat shield and somehow ended up beating you because of it, so you come to the forums to complain about it.

I agree that it's most often used as a crutch for players who don't understand position or who go after a kill too late and too far away and think that it's okay because they have a get-out-of-jail-free card. But I don't want it removed from the game. When someone uses one it's like they're shining a flashlight on their own ineptitude. They make it so simple to spot the wounded idiot, and I for one am not too proud to take an easy kill. - @reconzero I sometimes go as close to the storm as possible or into it a little ways and throw a heat shield as far as I can and then hide to draw out the gate keepers. They then expose themselves and then I kill them and steal their sh*t. : )
Works real well. IMO, heat shield is kind of a compensation for the RNG of the circle position, which is a variable that players cant affect, and also the map design of choke points everywhere. In a game like PUBG in which there rarely are any choke points or obstacles to reach the new circle, heat shields are quite unnecessary (even though Ive heard that they added it anyways).
So yeah, I wouldnt mind the removal of heatshield or perhaps only a nerf to it. But then they have to balance it by tweaking the variables I mentioned above. For instance by decreasing the circle move speed or increase the circle size etc etc. A nerf to it could be if they make it much, much harder to see out from inside the shield than vice versa. Now its sometimes the other way around. If a team stands close to the ring border inside the ring you cant see squat but a team outside the ring but inside a heat shield can see them much easier, which is not right.

Why did I never once in my life think of doing that? I love the way people use mis-direction in this game. I only recently thought to try throwing a zipline as a distraction instead of as a way to move. Haven't got a kill out of it yet, but I've made people move to counter which was all I was trying to do, so that's something. - @reconzero Lol, I thought of all the ppl on this forum, you for sure would have been doing that lol.
We would maybe make a decent duo team : )
Also I do the same if I ever use Bang, with her smoke. I use it more for miss direction and to draw ppl to an area I want them to go. It doesn't always work but I do find - "if you smoke it, they will come." ; )
