@dtOddity92 To be fair I have been a bit discouraged by how inaccessible the event loot is to a F2P player. It somewhat impairs my desire to fully participate in the event, but I enjoy solos enough to wanna do it anyway. That being said I'm kinda happy if they get a lot of money out of shenanigans like this. More money = more content. So yeah, it's a bit scummy. Okay, its very scummy. I let it slide because I want apex to be as successful as possible and the reality of business is it takes scumbag tactics to maximize profits. The drawbacks are clear as day but the rewards are much more illusive. There are rewards though, make no mistake.

@FakOrigin I think it'd be even fairer to say A LOT of people have been discouraged from playing Apex Legends overall and not just with the event given how the content is distributed (or maybe isn't distributed) to players.
It's good that you're enjoying aspects of the content. Discouraged or not, it's pleasant to see people who still believe in the game find a silver-lining in all of this disparity.
I think that scummy nature is of course debatable however.
Yes they want to be able to squeeze every penny they can out of us before it becomes too outrageous. But generally speaking, that is only our speculation.
Don't get me wrong I am in no way condoning the unethical exploitation of the consumer EA are often considered to be the endorsers of, but I'm also not an advocate for complaining at pretty commonplace financial decisions and amount them to nothing more than them simply putting their prices up for the sake of it.
What must be criticised however is this;
If they put their prices up, the consumers deserve to know why?
That is the sole reason as to why this controversy came about.
Even despite the public response given by Drew McCoy, they haven't address why this is.
Yes they have stated "our messaging for expectations needs to be clearer" and that "We’re learning", but that still doesn't change the fact people's concerns aren't fully being addressed here in this moment.
If people were to receive a similar response from the devs stating precisely why these event packs cost as much as they do, the majority of the community would be reassured. We can only hope that by learning they will be a little more open with us in the future about what they expect from us as players.
Overall, the key take away from all this controversy is not that we should be offended and give up on the IP we like because of a few bad decisions (after all this isn't Anthem), but instead be more self aware of how and why we spend our money. Along with said companies needing to be more transparent regarding such matters.
We all want the things we enjoy and invest time in to do well and grow.
But we always have to remember not only our own, but the developers limitations as well.
