the ship speed buff is so good
now it feels like an actual ship instead of a flying sloth, i know it shouldnt make too much difference since i am usually on the ship for about 5 seconds but it feels much better now

The speed increase was probably done so players will choose to land further away from the spawn point more easily. Waiting to drop isn't punished as hard anymore because you fly faster.
I have no idea if the 'stay on jump ship longer and drop straight down' or 'jump earlier and drop diagonally' is faster, but the change is probably more noticeable if you want to land further away from the dropship start location.
It feels good now. Whenever the jumpmaster wants to land further away from the initial spawn point, the waiting time is reduced by 50%.
