@Zulkiers A few things:
Ult Accelerants:
- They're useful for Ash, Mad Maggie, Ballistic, Horizon, Valkyrie, Alter, Crypto, Vantage, New Castle, and Wattson. Everyone else's is very situational, (Bangalore, Gibraltar, sometimes Caustic), recharges quick, (Octane, Mirage, and Pathfinder (when scanning Care Packages)), and/or isn't all that needed, (like marking people with Seer's heart).
If you're going to run Vantage, she's killer with ult accelerants. Using her level 2 perk, "Ultimate Reload", she can give her ult 4 charges, (instead of 2), and use it twice as fast. A Vantage running around with one of these means they can shoot people 10 times. (6 from a fully charged ult + 4 from the ult accelerant).
Considering it takes 2 shots to down most players, (and 3 to down the rest), she can squadwipe a whole team and have a shot, (or more), to spare. Of course, that also depends on if they go and hide, heal, armor swap, etc.
Fuse:
- While it sounds nice to have it do a ring of knuckle clusters, that would be a bit more annoying. A ring of fire is more meant as an area of denial, (if used in places like hallways), and to trap knocked players from getting help from their teammates. It also stops enemy players from easily helping those inside the ring as it highlights them, (for now, I think that might get removed soon).
Overall, his ult is more or less situational.
Revenant:
- I liked it when he had the silencer. It was less annoying and easier to avoid. Now we just got Seer's version and it just goes through walls, where dodging it mid-fight is a pain. Luckily, Seer's pickrate is low, so I rarely deal with being silenced.
Valkyrie:
- She's getting a lot of crazy buffs. She will be introducing everyone to the skies... (and then to the ground). Are you ready?
I'm a little worried because whenever I hear someone skydive, I'd run into buildings. Now, no one will be safe when trying to hide from most level 3 Valkyries. Not to mention that I main Valkyrie, so uh... keep your eyes on the skies.
- As for the rocket's speeds, I think they will launch quicker. Its kind of hard to tell if the change means "time to take off", which would mean its quicker as its a lower number, or "speed", which would mean its slower. We'll have to wait and see when the patch gets released.
I'm also very happy I'll be able to punch out of her tactical. I have been flying into the sky to drain the fuel tank as that would cancel the tactical, but if I was able to, I would climb a wall instead. This has been one of the minor pains for Valkyrie mains everywhere.
@Zulkiers > "Although, I think her ultimate naturally needs more height. It seems to naturally be lower than the mobile balloons."
Actually, this is not true. Valkyrie can launch herself higher than the EVAC towers, (and even higher with the 15% skydive perk).
Starting Position:
Valkyrie VS EVAC (No Perks)
Valkyrie VS EVAC (15% Skydive Perk Equipped)
Note: It was hard to tell when Valkyrie was at the highest point, so the heights shown are around the max height. For the no perks skydive, this was ~168 meters, while the skydive with perks was ~191 meters, (as shown in the screenshots above).
Other Legends:
- With Crypto's drone trying to EMP on recall, I think that might be players hitting the wrong buttons, as like you, I've never had this happen. I've also didn't notice any issues with Mad Maggie.
- With New Castle, I choose the speed perk as it helps in a lot of fights. The base shield can take a lot of hits, so making it be able to protect teammates quicker is better to me. However, perks allows there to be different playstyles, so use what works for you.
- To clarify the confusion on Wattson's "Emergency Power" perk, its this:
It basically acts like a golden helmet for everyone's ultimate and recharges their shields quicker. I've actually didn't know this was broken. I've thought the only thing that was broken was its description when trying to select it.
Its funny to see, but its confusing as to what it does, as I thought it would let me place down two ults, not recharge ults and shields quicker. (Also, I remembered the description when looking at it in other places didn't say it recharged ults and shields quicker, so it was even more confusing as to what it did).
Lastly:
- Some ideas sounds interesting, but I can't imagine things like a ballistic shield or the Re-45 becoming Akimbo. (I hope they never Akimbo the Wingman... it will be a nightmare).
- I'm also not a fan of the gun shield hop-up. It does feel like it takes several bullets to break someone else's, while they can one shot yours. I think the reason comes down to the type of weapons being used, as I believe snipers have bleed through damage, (so it would make sense that it can take out the gun shield in one shot). The game also has some issues with the servers and with the hit reg, as there has been times where the death recap had said I was shot 4-6 times with a weapon, when I've only heard, (and saw), 1-2 bullets being fired.
Its also very possible that the hop-up is just bugged, (where it was meant to take more damage), but I'm not sure if this is the case or not.

Yes. Precisely that. I see 1-2 shots, hear 1-2 shots, and eat 10.
People are saying that gun shield has 40, gibby has 50, and gun shield gibby has 90. Honestly, gibby doesn't feel buffed at all by gun shield. Seems to take the same amount as base gibby shield.
I'm pretty sure they said the wingman will never become akimbo.
Vantage's Ult vs Balloon, I forget what map it was but there is a cliff with ziplines. Use valk ult from below, you land on the cliff. Use Balloon from below, you fly over that ledge and fly another 10-15 seconds, letting you go farther.
I think it's a location on storm point? Location was once used in a mixtape match, but I think it got removed from rotation. Dang, can't remember what the place is called. I want to say it was near jurrasic park locale? Cascade Falls? Somewhere anyways.
You know the cliff I'm talking about?- Zulkiers1 year agoSeasoned Ace
Red X = Usage location (Valk Ult and balloon)
Yellow X = Valkyrie skydive landing
Green X = balloon skydive landing
- Zulkiers1 year agoSeasoned AceGist is basically that from valkyrie skydive, it landed early, but from balloon we got to fly for a while.

@Zulkiers Yeah, Gibraltar didn't seem all that different with the hopup, so I mainly run other weapons.
They did say the wingman will never be akimbo. I was just meaning that it would be a nightmare if it ever was.
As for the Valk ult VS an EVAC tower, I think it comes down to when you enter the landing animation. I believe a Valk ult enters this animation from a higher height than it does when using a EVAC tower. For example, if you enter this animation at 30 meters above the ground during a Valk skydive, the EVAC tower would enter this animation around 15 or so meters, thus letting you fly further.
From what I've noticed, Valk's ult is also more sensitive to mountains, hills, and other parts of the maps like the Apex signs and banners, so going over some areas would cause Valk to fall short. Although, in most cases its better to use Valk's ult than to use the EVAC tower because some places can't be cleared with an EVAC tower.
As for Wattson, honestly the perks comes down to how a game is playing out. Sure, you could select the same perks, but changing it up can help a lot too. Crypto is Wattson's natural enemy, but an easy counter to Crypto's counter, is to have ult accelerants on hand. Crypto can only EMP the Pylon so often, unless he's also using ult accelerants or has a Wattson using the perk to charge his ultimate quicker.
You might of gotten EMP'ed by another Crypto, due to his new perk, there's been a change in his pickrate, which would mean there would be more Cryptos running around. It could also be the same one with ult accelerants, which would make sense why Respawn is nerfing their spawn rates. I've played a few games the other day and ended up with 7 of them 2 matches in a row, and I was Vantage with the +2 bullet perk, so it was very dangerous in my hands.
As for the mini-skydive, it sounds nice, but I could see it being abused. Players would be able to fly whenever they want to, without needing to wait for the ult to charge or for an EVAC tower to drop. Even if Valk can only fly alone, it would still be overpowered as she could scan a small area, (not through walls), and that's intel for the team. Overall, I feel like her skydive is best saved as an ult. Besides, with the EVAC towers, those kinda already function as mini-skydives, which has balance to them as they could be broken by enemy players and they have a limit of one per player on the team. I'd prefer to run around with heat shields, but to each their own.- Zulkiers1 year agoSeasoned Ace@Midnight9746
Mini skydive.
Mini.
Like half the height.
You wouldn't get very far, almost instantly landing.
It's main purpose is for finding visible enemies.
Depending on charge rate, it would take an average of 10 seconds to recharge, because it uses up all her fuel, and requires full fuel.
The way people can move in this game, you'd get more distance off sprinting than mini diving. I however, who cannot fathom how to do such movement, would conversely get slightly more distance, maybe, because I cannot move as fast as everyone else, no matter what I do. All my attempts to boost movement only slow me down most of the time. The bunny hopping trick? Slower than crouch. Slower than moving while using a battery. I cannot do it.
BTW: That crypto was in the last squad. It was the final ring. Myself and Maggie vs crypto, rampart, and I forget the third. Our wraith was already eliminated, but spectating us, hoping for victory. I placed pylon, fenced the spot, they couldn't enter, too many fences for them. Crypto EMPs, I pylon, fence up, as I finish, another EMP. I only had the one accelerant. I replace a couple nodes but without the Pylon I can't fully fence, they take that opportunity and finish us off. Ring width 5m. They almost got hit by the ring burn, but narrowly avoided it by jumping on us.
- Zulkiers1 year agoSeasoned Ace@Midnight9746 I always went the other one because either my pylon would always get destroyed by an EMP, or we'd all get shot down pretty fast. Thus more pylon health is useless because EMP, and we're taking a beating so faster shield charge helps sustain us. I didn't realize that it boosted ally recharge speeds.
Almost every time I place down a pylon in combat, emp kills it within 30 seconds. Better to absorb as much shield as possible, because emp will kill it regardless of extended HP, and make regenerating power useless as well. Faster shield charge is thus better, as you get more shield out of it before it gets emp'd vs the infinite power one.
Know what I mean?- Zulkiers1 year agoSeasoned AceOf course, could have just been that E-District and Crypto's off-the-grid had just arrived. Perhaps that's why I kept getting EMP'd.
That crypto was using accelerants, because I used one and replaced my Pylon, and a few seconds later he hit me with another EMP.
- Zulkiers1 year agoSeasoned Ace@Midnight9746 What do you think about my Valk idea? While grounded, with full fuel, Hold jump to launch a mini-skydive.
Perk, base kit, or base kit but unaffected by "Eyes in the Sky"?
