@Zulkiers Yeah, Gibraltar didn't seem all that different with the hopup, so I mainly run other weapons.
They did say the wingman will never be akimbo. I was just meaning that it would be a nightmare if it ever was.
As for the Valk ult VS an EVAC tower, I think it comes down to when you enter the landing animation. I believe a Valk ult enters this animation from a higher height than it does when using a EVAC tower. For example, if you enter this animation at 30 meters above the ground during a Valk skydive, the EVAC tower would enter this animation around 15 or so meters, thus letting you fly further.
From what I've noticed, Valk's ult is also more sensitive to mountains, hills, and other parts of the maps like the Apex signs and banners, so going over some areas would cause Valk to fall short. Although, in most cases its better to use Valk's ult than to use the EVAC tower because some places can't be cleared with an EVAC tower.
As for Wattson, honestly the perks comes down to how a game is playing out. Sure, you could select the same perks, but changing it up can help a lot too. Crypto is Wattson's natural enemy, but an easy counter to Crypto's counter, is to have ult accelerants on hand. Crypto can only EMP the Pylon so often, unless he's also using ult accelerants or has a Wattson using the perk to charge his ultimate quicker.
You might of gotten EMP'ed by another Crypto, due to his new perk, there's been a change in his pickrate, which would mean there would be more Cryptos running around. It could also be the same one with ult accelerants, which would make sense why Respawn is nerfing their spawn rates. I've played a few games the other day and ended up with 7 of them 2 matches in a row, and I was Vantage with the +2 bullet perk, so it was very dangerous in my hands.
As for the mini-skydive, it sounds nice, but I could see it being abused. Players would be able to fly whenever they want to, without needing to wait for the ult to charge or for an EVAC tower to drop. Even if Valk can only fly alone, it would still be overpowered as she could scan a small area, (not through walls), and that's intel for the team. Overall, I feel like her skydive is best saved as an ult. Besides, with the EVAC towers, those kinda already function as mini-skydives, which has balance to them as they could be broken by enemy players and they have a limit of one per player on the team. I'd prefer to run around with heat shields, but to each their own.
Mini skydive.
Mini.
Like half the height.
You wouldn't get very far, almost instantly landing.
It's main purpose is for finding visible enemies.
Depending on charge rate, it would take an average of 10 seconds to recharge, because it uses up all her fuel, and requires full fuel.
The way people can move in this game, you'd get more distance off sprinting than mini diving. I however, who cannot fathom how to do such movement, would conversely get slightly more distance, maybe, because I cannot move as fast as everyone else, no matter what I do. All my attempts to boost movement only slow me down most of the time. The bunny hopping trick? Slower than crouch. Slower than moving while using a battery. I cannot do it.
BTW: That crypto was in the last squad. It was the final ring. Myself and Maggie vs crypto, rampart, and I forget the third. Our wraith was already eliminated, but spectating us, hoping for victory. I placed pylon, fenced the spot, they couldn't enter, too many fences for them. Crypto EMPs, I pylon, fence up, as I finish, another EMP. I only had the one accelerant. I replace a couple nodes but without the Pylon I can't fully fence, they take that opportunity and finish us off. Ring width 5m. They almost got hit by the ring burn, but narrowly avoided it by jumping on us.

@Zulkiers The mini-skydive you're talking about sounds very situational and I don't quite see how useful it would be as while you're off the ground, enemy players can easily push your teammates and your location. Overall, I can see how it would put the team at a major disadvantage.

But you would spot everyone around in line of sight, giving your team mates the advantage of knowing where the enemy is. Doesn't last as long, but you've done what you intended to - spot the enemy. Now you can execute them.
Now, in being more situational, if your allies are no where near you, like on the other side of a building from you, and the enemies are on top, they'll head for you, you spot them, and your allies will sneak up behind them and execute them, at the same time if your allies pushed fast enough, you land and join in the mayhem.
It'll put you at least as high as if you straight jetpacked straight up, but they put you into skydive.
Although, here's another question. They gave her the recon threat vision while jetpacking, did they also give her passive while jetpacking? Same range as threat vision perhaps? Then you wouldn't need the mini-skydive. Although mini-skydive could be used to get higher as fast as a (Horizon Tactical), compared to the slow ascent of jetpacking. I'd still like it anyways. It'd be fun I think. Up, down, run, up, down, run, lol. Truly would be master of the skies. But still not as movement powerful as octane, if you know what I mean. Save for her ult.
I would love it if they decrease the height for landing from her ult, let us fly farther. Yeah? - Zulkiers1 year agoSeasoned Ace
@Midnight9746
Half the time I'm more useful to my allies skydiving than on the ground with them. Purely because spotting passive.
This would give a little more spotter utility.
Although, I don't think it should get boosted by Eyes in the Sky, that would make it OP.
Probably shouldn't have as much range as normal skydive passive either. Normal is roughly 250m. This should probably not do more than 150m.
Eyes in the sky boosts to... 300 was it? 350? And gives wallhacks?
If eyes does effect microlaunch, it should only do the wallhacks, and maybe boost to 200. Not be as big, you know? That would be majorly broken/OP. People'd see snipers every 10 seconds or so if microlaunch skydive spotting had that much range.
Better yet, skydive wallhacks range should be no more than half the range of skydive spotting, and microlaunch be half the range of skydive spotting, so microlaunch wallhacks would be half of the half the range of skydive spotting, aka quarter range.
What do you think?
Basic Skydive 260m LoS spotting
Basic Microlaunch 130m LoS spotting
Eyes in the Sky Skydive 300m wallhacks
Eyes in the Sky Skydive my version: 300m LoS spotting, 150m wallhacks spotting
Eyes in the Sky Microlaunch: 150m LoS spotting, 75m wallhacks spottingLoS means Line-of-Sight
What do you think? Wallhacks should be same super range as skydive or half?
What do you think of my adjustments?
And as for microlaunch: half the height, half the detection radius, sort of thing.
What do you think?
