Two suggestions for simple QOL updates: Split damage stacking & toggle walk
Just want to preface this post: I genuinely love Apex Legends and found this forum to give genuine suggestions for improvements to the game. This post isn't a complaint or ranting. Also, I hope that my suggestions are valuable and haven't yet been yet communicated as planned changes.
With that being said, I have a couple of simple suggestions for settings changes that could help improve quality of life for me, but hopefully some other players too!
⚽ New damage setting that splits stacked damage counts between shields and flesh damage. I'm one of the players who likes to used stacked damage feedback in game, but what is annoying to me about it is that it only gives me the total number of damage dealt, even after it turns red after you crack the player. The resulting number is the total number of damage done to the player (obviously), but I'd like to be able to tell my teammates how much total flesh damage I've done, not the total damage. The reason is because total damage can be somewhat arbitrary when a player wasn't full shields to begin with (so total damage is actually more than what you did), and it's hard to approximate how much flesh damage you actually did when you have to remember when the number turned red, what the total was then, and what the total is now. And, using the individual bullet damage counters requires too much mental math in real time (which is the solution stacking damage feedback provides, anyway). I suggest that one more damage feedback setting be added that is stacking, but the stack resets to zero once the shield is broken, so that the total flesh damage is shown to the player thereafter. Then, we can just com "cracked!...hit them 40 flesh!". I would absolutely love this addition, and I hope that other players would find value in it too.
🏈 Improved movement settings for MnK, where players can use auto sprint and toggle/hold walk, in addition to the current settings. I know I might get some hate/"you're a noob" for this, but I started on console (in Season 0) and switched to PC/MnK in season 11. I liked how on controller you could enable "auto-sprint" and still walk by only slightly moving the joy stick. On PC, there is only a setting to toggle/hold sprint, OR auto-sprint. In a game where we are running around everywhere always, I'd like to be able to be lazy and use auto-sprint on MnK, but then be able to toggle/hold to walk when I'm approaching a fight. It is pretty annoying only being able to walk by default and toggle sprint ever 2 seconds, or just succumb to not being able to walk. I know a lot of Apex players are used to these settings already (and would be the ones calling me a noob) but I'd love if there could be a setting added to MnK that, if auto-sprint was enabled, created a hold/toggle to walk setting so that we can run around all we want, but still sneak up on people/have our gun out when necessary.
I hope some other players find the same value in these as I do! And I hope developers see an opportunity with these that provide real quality of life improvements to Apex!
