There is plenty of evidence that cheaters are being banned.
Is enough being done? Maybe, maybe not, but cheaters do get actioned, saying that's not the case would be false information.
Sometimes players receive a mail that includes whether or not action was taken, but this isn't done for every ban AFAIK.
This is pretty normal for a lot of games, as this is a private matter between the one being reported and the game company.
(Yes the reporter plays a role, but they're not really a central part of it)
Developers @ the Security Team have published some numbers a while back, but I don't think they're allowed to do this anymore.

This means that they probably can't show numbers, this is usually done because everything regarding security is usually obscured.
After all, security through obscurity works quite well, even for just pure ban numbers, they most likely have a good reason for doing so.
I get that players are missing a lot of feedback in this area, and it sucks, but it's only natural to make it work more efficiently, even if it seems like nothing is being done.
As other games also apply this, wouldn't this mean that nobody is being widespread across games as not every game publishes this data?
It's not directly a 1 or a 0, just because we can't see it, doesn't mean nothing is being done, if that were the case then the game would be completely unplayable.
