I don't think it's unreasonable for the game to request that you close the program to play, it's not abnormal for games to blacklist certain processes running in the background.
There are certain tools I make use of when reading memory and debugging certain programs, but in many games this could be used for creating cheats and whatnot.
The thing is, these programs get banned because there are other users abusing them, I don't think EA/Respawn is really at fault here.
Just because a few players use them for legit reasons, I wouldn't unblock the tool soo thousands of other users can start abusing this program again.
Of course there are some accessibility concerns for others, but that's a separate topic, as certain things should be possible with Apex itself.
From my perspective, I don't see how this could be problematic for you when playing Apex.
Are you multitasking work with playing the game at the same time or something? I mean, that would kind of go against your work productivity so I doubt that's the case.
So if you're not really working when you're playing the game, why would the program need to be actively running?
I'm just curious in what way you're using reWASD that makes it so crucial for you to be running it in the background at all times, even if you're not using it in-game.
Frankly, I don't really need to explain myself to you. I've already uninstalled Apex Legends. I use reWASD for some shortcuts I use all the time. If you can't see that undermining the few just for the sake of the majority is a problem, there's no helping you.

You aren't required to explain yourself of course, but when you are providing feedback it is important to show what your situation is and why you find it useful.
Knowing for what you are using the shortcuts would help greatly for those that are not in your shoes, without that crucial information, well, it would become a bit hard to see why you find this problematic.
These changes don't get made on a whim, they do think a great deal about these kind of things.
But if players keep abusing certain programs, then there is no merit for them to keep it into the game.
Changes are made with the playerbase in mind, you can't keep them all happy, but the point is to keep the majority happy.
Keep in mind that there are other programs that allow you to remap and create shortcuts other than reWASD and Joy2Key.
I think it would be a shame for you to uninstall the game because you don't want to switch to a different program or turn it off.
Of course no one is forcing you to play the game and nobody is forcing you to do anything with your software, but I find it highly unlikely for EA/Respawn to bring it back.
So I'm just giving you advice so you can still enjoy the game with your shortcuts as you used to, though as you don't want to do so, is them banning this kind of software really the problem or are there some other issues with the game that have brought you to making this decision?
Personally I wouldn't really quit a game if I'd need to turn off some background apps or to switch to a different program, so is it possible that you were dissatisfied with other parts of the game, and if so, would you have any feedback on that part?

Why are you defending the corporation? And stop twisting my words around.
I'm not going to constantly turn on and off a good productivity app, that I've paid good money for, just for some bloody game.
If you really need to know, they're just keybinds on my mouse to perform certain key presses. that's it.
- Midnight97462 years agoHero+@XangelMusic Listen, I don't want to see cheaters in *any* game. I'm not "defending" EA or Respawn, I'm defending the integrity and fairness of games.
Also, "twisting your words"? What gave you that impression? I didn't say you use it to cheat, I said because it was used to cheat - in general, that is, its banned by the devs.
- Midnight97462 years agoHero+@XangelMusic Here's the thing... pretty much 99.9% of players who use reWASD, were using it to cheat. Because they were using it to cheat, it got banned. There's no changing that.
You've already uninstalled the game, yet I would of uninstalled the program instead as other games you play might also start banning it from running too.
Its annoying for those who were using it legitimately, I can understand that. However, since it was used to cheat, it doesn't matter how it was used in other ways as cheating should never be allowed. They banned Steam configs for the same reason, as well as changing the game's config files from what I've heard. - 2 years ago@XangelMusic well maybe provide a solution on how Respawn can allow reWASD to stay opened while running Apex Legends and still able to prevent players from using reWASD in-game. I don't think Respawn will bother making a workaround for that, so, unless you have a solution, goodbye

for me, just allow rewasd to be off but still installed, that's enough. for him, maybe removing autoaim from pc even if you use controller, that's the first thing to do

I swtg, this is why I hate posting on these forums because you have people trolling or invalidate on my feedback, twist your words or defending the company.
The keybinds I use are not for the game, they're for everyday use. I'm sure I mentioned this before. They're copy/paste keybinds that I use for Firefox or Word, nothing to do with Apex, and I would use them outside while playing a game.
Keep living your fantasy than banning genuine players instead of actual cheaters is the better solution.
