"Unknown" Players

Sometimes players show up as "Unknown", either in squad lineup, champ lineup, on banners, on kill feed, on damage overview, anywhere another player's name is displayed, sometimes one is named "Unknown". But, it's not the player Unknown, as one of the "Unknowns" once loaded a name yesterday.

@DaBabyDa Looks like something went wrong because while I was choosing a legend, my teammates were Player3815 and Player4873 and when we jumped their names have changed.
  • I see this very often too as of late. I'm almost certain this was not common in the past... But it seems to be prevalent in every game, and both maps. When I see the Kill feed on the upper-right-hand corner of the screen, I'll see multiple different "Unknown" players (I'll see "Unknown [Finished] Unknown" and the like.)

If it means anything; One time I had a teammate who was labeled "Unknown" during the Character Selection at the beginning, then had a unique name as we were in the initial Dropship.

@StarMystro It essentially means the user's name didn't load. Because it would say "Unknown killed you in 8 hits", and if I go to report them, or sometimes after a short time it would say like "Phantom332 killed you" (example name btw).

There was even a full champ team with the Unknown name. That's not at all "streamers". As their name would be Player<numbers>. This is flat out names just not loading.

@Midnight9746 These will be the people who will complain the most about random bans. Good player hides his name with "Streamer mode" and when he kills someone, he thinks he's a hacker and report him because hackers do the same thing, they also use "streamer mode" to avoid report with video proof.

    # There must be a slight fix. They need to add the option to link your account to twitch or mixer and only the people who really stream to be able to use streamer mode. This will eliminate hackers and fake TTV's from streamer mode.

@Midnight9746I figured as much. That the names were simply not loading in time. But doesn't this (in of itself) seem to happen a lot more often than before...? I mean, nothing's changed on my end- I don't think atleast. Like, no changes to my setup or platform or whatever.

@StarMystro I've noticed it happening more and more when the last event came out. A lot of player's names are simply not loading. Sometimes my own teammate who I loaded into the match with, would have the unknown name. I know what their name is, but the "this is your squad" screen shows them as unknown, instead of the name used in the lobby. This isn't "streamer mode". Streamer mode only really affects people watching the player who's suppose to be streaming. AKA, if the player snipes someone it can say "Player3451 <kraber> Test321", and people won't know who Player3451 is, but as the person gets popular and find themselves being found by their fans, they would be able to hide "Test321's" name as well, as the people in the kill feed, so viewers won't know which "player" is their streamer. They also add in a few seconds of a delay to streams, so people can't just jump where they were.

This whole "Unknown" makes Z E R O sense to be "Streamers", since it's more like "which "unknown" is who", and also the fact that they usually load in when reporting on origin or when you open the death tab a few times.
