AIM assist is cheating. Since when did this game start allowing cheat devices? I can't spend money on such an unfair game for PC. I sincerely hope it dies out like Titanfall someday.

It's an assist, not an aimbot.
The reason why one has an assist and one doesn't is because a mouse theoretically has more control whilst joysticks have less control.
Aim assist overall isn't an issue, though it depends on how much is required for it to balance out to the same level as a mouse.
Then we also have the difference between console and PC platforms, which IIRC is being done due to differences in performance and possibly because they lack other areas where PC doesn't fail.
I'm sure some tweaks can be made to aim assist, but it's not really an aimbot, even if it were, it's obviously going to be considered a legal aimbot due to it being an assist.
@XHelperZ You seem to not really know the difference between an aimbot and aimassist my friend. In the end it also does absolutely not matter. But it’s called aimassist because it sounds less bad… I used both aimassists and aimbots and there are clear differences and what apex has is more an aimbot than an aimassist.
I don’t like that apex has such a bs software in the game ruining the competitive integrity of the game but reality is, it will stay.

Again, it's an assist to level the playing field.
An aimbot is something that does it completely for you, aim assist, well, it assists you.
This has existed ever since joysticks were a thing, and now it has entered the playing field for some modern games.
Whilst other games might not find it necessary to implement it, some others might because well, it's intended to level the playing field.
There are quite a lot of notable differences between these 2 things, in my experience the aim assist in this game is not that comparable to an aimbot.
And you don't need perfect mechanical skill to excel in this game, even if you'd get rid of it people would adjust to it without a lot of problems.Again, some tuning is fine, though I don't think it should be completely be removed.

- So. lemme get this right, you are ok without aa? LOL. Show me please. Troll.@XHelperZ is probably lower than diamond or does not know what he is talking about. Above diamond masters ALL controller players use .cfg's and * which are also HACKS, i mean if i wrote a script to perform 30 activities in order with miliseconds each time i trigger a certain button its HACKING/SCRIPTING yet devs are okay with it. Aim assist this hard should be on AAA games with stories, where you lay on your coach to chill, shooting someone is easy because the main point is progressing the story. Yet Apex Devs are acting like Jr. developers who never played any competitive FPS games at this point.
It is simple. I gave THOUSANDS of hours in my life to get better at FPS games playing with MnK. Or leave me out the topic, PROS play this FPS genre for years way much more than me, and some certain point they SWITCH to controller, i mean they EARN and COMPETE at the HIGHEST level. As i said in my topic it is equally absurd as a FIFA Pro going keyboard because keyboard has advantage over controller, this is worlds first done by EA and Respawn but they are so ignorant that they just update the maps add some new hero and skins and buff controller slightly every other day idk. I hope we see this sorted out with S17, or i am out, playing since launch and frustration is out of the roof at this point.

I'm going to clarify incorrect assessments about your definition of aim assistance.
Aim assistance wasn't created because of the lack and/ or direct comparison between different input devices. It started as game developers didn't have that much ability to think to give the user more control settings, so early titles had one setting. Game developers aren't that good at games (usually), so they put settings in their games that they enjoy.In the early 2000s game developers had to come up with aim assistance software for two main reasons.
Analog sticks (potentiometers) were and are still low quality, so the aim assistance was more or less degeneration potential (They knew over time the potentiometer would wear out).The single main reason aim assistance was created and/ or still utilized today is for player retention. It's a marketing technique used by game companies to keep the individual happy. Do what the game shows as good, the player gets more dopamine kicks. That player has better potential to spend more ingame if they're not that far from the rest (skill gap).Basically what I'm saying here is. If the user feels good over and over, they might spend more ingame, than just getting killed back to back. With the average player's mindset on a 10 second attention span (started from mobile devices) game developers have to not only create a good title, but keep that player entertained (control wise).So yeah, aim assistance is a marketing tactic used by game developers to sell more products. Understand, game companies are for-profit businesses with investors, They have to show returns quarterly.
A bunch of controller users (all within a closed skill gap proximity) allow that to happen more than a bunch of mouse & keyboard players. Aim assistance might be marketed today to group two different inputs, but don't let the developers and/ or controller manufacturers fool you.Microsoft, Sony and/ or all controller manufacturers rely on profits from these devices. These companies put pressure on game developers to have it available, while also saying it's a so-called "accessibility feature".Don't believe me, look up the 2003 - 2004 EPIC games aim assistance convention talking about everything I just stated here.Most people are just doing the work of these companies, just trying to make extra cash. In terms of aim assistance used in modern games, I don't think it's needed.You can't assume anyone just because they have the ability will use that device to its fullest. That's like assuming that every driver is a racer in their spare time or everyone that uses the internet is Albert Einstein.
Just because people have the potential to do something, doesn't necessarily mean they'll use it. So not all mouse & keyboard users will become top tier gamers.
Using assumption as the means to justify aim assistance needs to stop.I say let the gamers choose themselves. Add input based matchmaking. If players want to use it, so be it.
