Again, it's an assist to level the playing field.
An aimbot is something that does it completely for you, aim assist, well, it assists you.
This has existed ever since joysticks were a thing, and now it has entered the playing field for some modern games.
Whilst other games might not find it necessary to implement it, some others might because well, it's intended to level the playing field.
There are quite a lot of notable differences between these 2 things, in my experience the aim assist in this game is not that comparable to an aimbot.
And you don't need perfect mechanical skill to excel in this game, even if you'd get rid of it people would adjust to it without a lot of problems.
Again, some tuning is fine, though I don't think it should be completely be removed.
@XHelperZ Do you have experience in higher lobbies with it, personally, since you are so good and above it all? What rank are you btw?

@XHelperZ is probably lower than diamond or does not know what he is talking about. Above diamond masters ALL controller players use .cfg's and * which are also HACKS, i mean if i wrote a script to perform 30 activities in order with miliseconds each time i trigger a certain button its HACKING/SCRIPTING yet devs are okay with it. Aim assist this hard should be on AAA games with stories, where you lay on your coach to chill, shooting someone is easy because the main point is progressing the story. Yet Apex Devs are acting like Jr. developers who never played any competitive FPS games at this point.
It is simple. I gave THOUSANDS of hours in my life to get better at FPS games playing with MnK. Or leave me out the topic, PROS play this FPS genre for years way much more than me, and some certain point they SWITCH to controller, i mean they EARN and COMPETE at the HIGHEST level. As i said in my topic it is equally absurd as a FIFA Pro going keyboard because keyboard has advantage over controller, this is worlds first done by EA and Respawn but they are so ignorant that they just update the maps add some new hero and skins and buff controller slightly every other day idk. I hope we see this sorted out with S17, or i am out, playing since launch and frustration is out of the roof at this point.
I don't play competitive that much anymore, so I'd play around Plat to Diamond.
As for getting rid of AA, it seems like I forgot to add a thing.
I believe higher ranks wouldn't have that much of a problem adjusting to it.
As for lower ranks? Not so much.
If according to you this issue presents itself more in higher ranks then it's not an issue with the assist itself.
You could tune the AA as a whole or you could change how much % AA is active in a certain rank.
I believe that AA is still an assist as controllers and MnK are still not on an equal playing field, hence why an assist is put into place.
How strong the assist is or who gets the assist depends on certain factors that need to be fine tuned.

If you play at that level, you would know how important it is just to end a match on positive points.
But, you know, the aa issue only really starts to rear it's ugly head in higher tier comp play. This is why you have everyone from Platinum to Predator complaining about it. The issue is not having to adjust, the issue is that it messes up the whole competitive integrity of the game at those levels. It is just incredibly hard to win 1v1 fights up close when the opponent is using a controller. This has been established by pro players themselves, who operate at the highest level, who know all the exploits. Why, oh, why, do they allow 2 different inputs against each other? One advantage does not cancel the other out, that is not how comp shooters work. Everyone is equal, or we could just leave it and not bother to even call it competitive.Love this topic.
Let’s look at some facts and make some good deductions. I’ve already seen some fair points raised by both sides.
Aim Assist is a toned down aimbot with some functionalities removed and smoothed.
The intent of Aim Assist is to level the playing field, allowing for cross platform competition.Console players will almost never get into PC lobbies unless they team with one.
Aim Assist has become a staple of shooters and therefore has some peer pressure effects on developers.
The quality of analog sticks in controllers had gone down this is a purposeful decision made by manufacturers.
There are controllers that are good.
Most controllers are designed to fail.
Aim Assist provides a higher ground floor than PC, but has a much lower skill cap.
Using steam configs for controller in PC is a gross abuse of Aim Assist
Console controllers and PC are balanced from a weighted scale, but only by those means. (The same way a good player will be given two bricks for teammates and thats called good match making)
Aim Assist is a bandage for a bigger issue.
To remove Aim Assist, the skill cap on PC must also be lowered, then we will have a truly balanced system.
