Wattson exploit i never want to see again.

I just had a game ruined by a triple master controller Wattson. We were squaring off at a closed double door that we're both holding closed. All the sudden I get shocked and I'm standing in the middle of a fence and the door blows open on one side. A fight ensues for a couple minutes and our team loses. I spectate him to see what the hell he did, and he did it again to another player.

He starts his fence, places the first node on the opposite side of an open door, closes the door and holds it against the player who probably hasn't noticed, then THROUGH the door (fully closed, no gaps) he's able to link a second node at his feet without even looking down. I swear he didn't even look down to place the node at his feet. The fence activates, shocks the player, and blows the door so he can immediately kill them while they're stuck. This is absolutely not how her ability is supposed to work. You need unbroken LOS to place linked fence nodes.

The player was named *snip*, running in streamer mode (without a streaming page). I have no footage.

Fix now.

[p.s. i didn't place this thread in "bugs" because it wanted me to fill out an entire form about my hardware and crap as if it matters]

    This is not a bug, this is tech.

    Good Wattson players have been using this for ages already, I don't see why we should remove something that encourages having a strategy and planning beforehand.

    It's an unbroken LOS as the fence can connect since it destroys doors.

    I am not sure how you want them to fix this. At the end of the day, the Wattson just placed 2 nodes on the ground, so in my eyes there's nothing to fix here.

    Hi @IceCr34mEmperor,

    Thanks for reaching out. I'm afraid we're not equipped to process cheating reports through the forums, and naming and shaming players on here can lead to harassment so we ask members not to name and shame other gamers on this forum (as a result of this, we've edited the name out of your post to keep your post within the forum rules, please keep those in mind for again). 

    We do have official channels in place to receive reports and route them through to the team looking into them. This EA Help Article goes into that in more detail: "Report players for cheating, abuse, and harassment". The channels differ depending on what platform the cheating taking place on.

    Maybe because it's an exploit? If i can't place a node and jump over a concrete wall as wattson and link them to have a fence going right through a concrete wall, why tf can I do it with a door? Why then can't Vantage send her bird up, go down a whole floor, then just jet boost up through the floor? Wattson literally has rules to her abilities, defined by Respawn, and this isn't within the rules.

    A door is breakable, a wall is not.

    Same with vantage, you cannot go through walls and floors, however, the player can open or destroy the door.

    I don't exactly see the issue with Wattson being allowed to do this.

    It encourages strategy and planning ahead, punishing users that don't pay attention.
