We Need Better Servers

I had recently moved and was able to get a better Internet connection but the game is still lagging and playing as if I have 100+ ping. Its time to actually fix the servers instead of blaming the player's connections while ignoring the problem.

From what I understand, 10-25mbps down and 3-10 up is "typical" for online gaming. Considering I have download and upload speed to spare, I really shouldn't be lagging especially when I went with a company that's designed with gamers in mind and would pick the quickest route to servers, even non-gaming ones.

If the below images aren't enough to prove anything, you can ask basically any pro player, streamer, most of your Apex friends, and they most likely would say they got a good connection but lag all around. This isn't a player connection issue, (I mean, part of it is, but not the majority of it).

Keep in mind that both casual and pro players have complained numerous of times about the amount of lag in the game, (amongst other issues such as the audio, cheaters, etc.)

I am also on an Ethernet connection which is more ideal for online gaming. The down ping at the time is 59 with the up being 63, anything more than 100 in either is where you'd start to see lag, if I'm understanding things correctly.

I also did change to be connected to another nearby datacenter, and the in-game ping only spiked higher. Here's the problem: The server below is closer to me, and thus should have a better ping.

Central USA datacenter to a Japan datacenter, only around 40 ping difference, this shouldn't be the case. (Also, yes I know this ping is an estimate, but if its saying its so high while in the lobby, that's a huge yikes, especially when a closer datacenter than the one I get defaulted to spikes higher as well).

@Midnight9746, perhaps i didn't say it right. The paid routing, as I understand it, is not higher bandwidth, which is not in need here. They provide a more guaranteed optimal path that ensures higher quality delivery. That is what I have heard in their advertising anyways.

Port forwarding allows a more direct access to the port, not avoid hops, unless it has something to do with EA's network architecture and it eliminates a hop or two by eliminating a relay server or something along that line, not really sure how they designed their network.

But I understand your take on not paying to play against cheaters.    ;P
