Sabotage can sometimes be considered a subjective thing, so typically the most blatant behaviour falls under this.
Some things that might be counted as sabotage are:
- Suiciding
- Punching teammates off the map
- Destroying doors on purpose so the enemy can kill your teammate hiding behind it (Or opening a door to kill a teammate)
- Trapping a teammate
- Using abilities to slow down a teammate on purpose
Some things could fall under a grey area, as in some cases the intent of certain behaviour cannot be ascertained.
Not making use of comms could be considered sabotage, though do note that some users do not own mics.
Next to that, having issues with sound queue's can be due to bad hardware/software but also possibly because the user has trouble hearing properly. (Maybe they're also new to games in general.
If you're encountering a lot of users that aren't really trying then you should try playing in a premade squad.
The Apex discord provides LFG tools so you can find teammates that are willing to try much easier.
Playing with a premade squad would eliminate half of the complaining on these forums to be honest.
However, the game ALLOWS solo queuing in a team-based game, so the developers should take that into consideration.
The easiest solution to this problem would simply to have only premade stacks enter a game and only solos enter a game. Do not make a mixed lobby of premade stacks and solos / duos.
Some versions of sabotage you listed are easily discoverable with computer code - If you're dropping and then don't land on solid ground and fall off the map *boom* sabotage = banned. Even if your sabotage was unintentional, its still sabotage. Are we to understand that only purposeful sabotage is being considered? From what I understand, the security personnel don't have live clips to watch of the reports and are just looking at data. Not sure how they would assess "intent" without visually watching something. Moreover, if they CAN visually watch a clip of the report, then teams dropping and dying immediately should be viewed as "intentional" especially if a teammate is rapidly pinging "enemy near" The Jumpmaster intentionally putting their team in harm's way should be seen as sabotage.
Nonetheless, I've never seen or heard of anybody getting banned for this category, and there are other things like "wallhacking" which aren't even reportable.

Getting rid of premade squads would increase the queue times.
Solo queue players getting into a premade however does not affect the queue times in any way whatsoever.
Banning someone for flying off the map could work, though if someone is having network issues it could cause them to fly off the map, thus causing a false trigger.
And yes we would be talking about purposeful sabotage as people can make mistakes, though you're correct that this would be near impossible to detect from just gameplay footage.
Typically these systems work by flagging a user if they get reported a lot for the same thing, which could indicate that they are blatantly trying to sabotage their teammates.
I've also heard that wallhacking should be reported under "gameplay exploit" though I doubt that's actually the case.
Think it's kinda weird too that this isn't really an option.
Either way, lots of players get banned for a lot of different things, those who know that were sabotaging will most likely not make a post about it and even if they do, numbers might be low.
The reason for their ban also might have a different reason in the mail they've received, so it might not paint a good image of what caused the ban.

Bold are your comments.
If you're dropping and then don't land on solid ground and fall off the map *boom* sabotage = banned. Accidents happen and Olympus has holes in it. so unless it can be undeniable that it was purposeful NO.
Even if your sabotage was unintentional, its still sabotage. No that is not right and I beg to differ, sabotage is an intentional act of undermining your own team or player on your team.
Are we to understand that only purposeful sabotage is being considered? Yes that should be the only thing considered.
The Jumpmaster intentionally putting their team in harm's way should be seen as sabotage. All playstyles should be allowed if you do not like where the JM is going ping somewhere else or peel off from them. Back to your unintentional thing here what if the JM guides you to what looks to be a clear landing and then 20 seconds later 2-4 teams land on you. Not the JM's fault not sabotage.
Making poor choices and bad decisions are not sabotage even if you may think they are.

to enlighten the people that still dont know : The only thing that is validated to work on the report side is Harassment.
Reports for "Sabotage" either go straight to the dustbin or have other consequences (matchmaking ?!?), but you wont get banned for it.
i can tell, bcs people report me all the time and in 35K Matches i never got banned for anything, only a strike for bad words ...
I always laugh when people shout : report him !
its a useless function and it should rather be replaced with a "Kudos" system.
People are more likely to report you for things like : you took my legend, you sabotaged me, and other weird stuff or just out of thin air just for reporting sake.
But you will only get Kudos if you really did good for the team ... so lets change that and display the amount of Kudos in a Banner or Badge.
That will show if you are the nice person people expect.
