What is Bangalore's smoke supposed to be now? See-through or not?

In any circumstance where I have a Bangalore in my own team or the enemy team and they pop their smoke, unless I'm actually up-close to them, I can't see any enemy. The only way I can see them is through digital threat. Which isn't available on a good chunk of the weapons. Enemies however can see me just fine because whether they're smoked or we're smoked (Best case to see this is when you smoke your enemy and they spitfire you to death). Honestly I can't put my finger on what's going on. Either the smoke is strictly see-through, or strictly non-see through. I don't want this conditional crap where there are cases/settings where the smoke is the one way and then suddenly a different thing with other circumstances.
