Where does the P2020 shine?

I am asking this because I find myself often getting a P2020 at start with enemies picking up a Flatline, r99 or pretty much any other gun which simply slaps the P2020's butt.

If you have hammers the p2020 can deal somewhat decent damage, but it is still worse than anything else. Moderate range? Well you can still pick up every other gun - carepackage guns as the very first gun off of drop.

Investing in the gun (finding hopups, magazines, laser sights) still won't make it better than anything else.
In the extreme situation that you have low ammo and damage per shot matters most, other guns are still better.

Now even if I say the other guns are better, I still don't dislike the gun. I just wish that it could be good.

I don't know how swap-times work in apex, but often you have a swap speed to a gun, and not from. The pistols, and here the p2020 should be the very best, should be faster to swap to and from. Perhaps this is already somwhat true in swapping to the pistols, but vice versa should apply.

I'd also like to see something like incendiary rounds for the p2020, dealing DoT + up front damage. Something to make it more positively unique play wise, as now it is "spamming the button as fast as you can".
I say this because I also hope that we will get a heavy ammo pistol/revolver (maybe a 2-shot burst) and an energy one (beam gun?).

What are your thoughts about the p2020?
Is it just a throw away gun, or do you find it better than some other gun?
