Why is the matchmaking so messed up?
Can someone explain to me why the matchmaking is so jacked up? It makes no sense how I get matched with level 20-50 players and the champion has people that are actually their skill level. Kinda mess...

I have been playing apex ranked a little lately and I have to say this new ranked system does not make any logical sense. You can literally hide in a corner for the full game and come second and you will get a ton of LP, however if you hotdrop, get like 8 kills and then place 11th overall in the match you will then still lose a ton of points. This is so idiotic, it is so painful to play ranked now I almost never do. Your old ranked system made logical sense, it made it difficult to rank up in and actually gave you a fair amount of points for getting kills, assists, damage etc. If you were to go back to the old ranked system, I can guarantee many players would play a ton more ranked. I certainly would. That is all for today, I know you probably won't even see this but I am so fed up with ranked I had to at least try.

I don't know, the last system didn't make a lot of sense either, I would get two kills with 500 damage, but be placed top 10, and get -35 points.
I don't think you will lose points when you have a lot of kills and end up in a placement where you won't earn more points.
In this case, you actually have a chance to get points for Kills, assists and participation to prevent from losing too much points.
- @Kazer13 Are you talking about seaon 16 and below now? That made most sense, there was a natural skill limit between divisions and it was clear to see that the better aim, better tactical decisions and strategy would get you further than most people. Now the new system only favor time spent and not on any tangible skill, you just need to put time without doing any effort.
Claiming ranked to be competetive in the new system is a bad joke and anyone that can't see that is delusional or ignorant really...Season 18 Ranked? WELL I'm kinda new to apex but I do have to say things are way different this season as compared to last season. I've only been playing this game solid for like a month but the new rank system for season 18 is, well, I don't know guys. Seems a bit harsh to me to play and be the 3rd to last team with 2 kills on the board, 15 to 20 minutes in the game, only to get 60 points and then the following game, hot drop in the wrong place just to lose 50 points. If you ask me the trade off is terrible.
I work 5 days a week, 10 hour days. How is it even possible to get to masters, let alone pred for someone like me? I'd have to have one hell of a cracked team and I mean like the top 3% for my circumstances. Maybe I'm wrong but man I feel like it's just going to be painful all season and I just started getting really into this game. IDK what are your guys thoughts about this season's ranking system? For the vets out there do you think I'm wrong?
Respawn tries to make the game as casual as possible, that’s why everyone can reach masters nowadays…
Yea season 17 is a clear evidence of the broken system, over 30% of all players reached masters. Now they "tweaked" the amount of points required so the problem still exists and they might have reduced the number of players reaching masters but it will end up in the same situation because it is only delayed because people need to put in even more time. They calim they want 1% of all players to reach masters. WELL your old system before masters already worked in that sense so why change? Well because majority of people are not that good and they felt like they didnt improve because they didnt wanna improve so they made sure that no matter the skill you can experience rank symbols Platinum and above only by wasting enough time into it without any real sense of achievement or progress.
- @BallisticMVP You say that, but they changed the ring for S18 to where its faster and more deadlier and they won't change it back unless its too much for the pros, according to what streamers and YouTubers had said.
