Why is the matchmaking so messed up?

Can someone explain to me why the matchmaking is so jacked up? It makes no sense how I get matched with level 20-50 players and the champion has people that are actually their skill level. Kinda mess...

I have played apex legends on and off for a couple years, and have usually had lots of fun on this game. I am only around level 397, and I am usually a casual player. The furthest I’ve ever gotten in ranked is diamond 4. This season, after reaching gold 4 the previous season, I completed the provisional matches for ranked. I didn’t do good, and landed in bronze two. I thought it would be ok, but much to my surprise my entire lobbies have been filled with masters and predator players. Being a level 397 player, I am getting completely and absolutely obliterated in these lobbies and I have no chance. I am writing this email after losing the past 7 matches before the first ring has closed. Please do something about this. I should not be put in lobbies with these types of players, because it not only harms me but it also hurts them because they are trying to win and I am not a good enough player.

Dude, they don't care. Game makers are in some kind philosophy at the moment: What's been created, must be destroyed!

As a diamond level player it isn't surprising that you would be matched against very high level players. Diamond is nothing to sneeze at even if you only have a few thousand matches total.

As to why you're seeing high level players in bronze - you have to remember that this is still early season and those formerly high level players are currently bronze just like you, working their way up the ladder. This is why it's good for a lot of players to avoid the rank ladders early season until these people rank up and out of the way. It's always like this early on.

  @reconzero That is not how it works, they don't care about your rank division when matchmaking. MMR does not follow divisions, if your MMR is in the same region you are matchmade. That is why they removed the ability to see team mates and enemies ranks because they don't correlate with skill anymore and they matchmake like it is the wild west between divisions. ONLY if they can't within a reasonable time limit now how long that is, start picking players in your division but that will not happen for the majority of the people.
