Second, even Apex recognizes the value of Damage as it is one of two that are the largest font and in your face.
Third, as I think about accuracy more, I still hold Damage is the most important. As I described earlier and again, it is the only stat that shows how much you relentlessly HIT your target. (The number of times you hit your target is what I think is valuable in a shooter, which is what Apex is.)
The term relentlessly isn't a quality I chose lightly. It doesn't matter if you have low accuracy. If you make up for it by being relentless, I think that raises you up on my list.
You can take someone who is very accurate but won't engage.
You can take someone who is half as accurate and will relentlessly engage.
I would rather play with the latter. And this is why I think it is the best metric.
I'm done on this topic. I can't explain it any more clearly in the face of so many various view points (which I acknowledge, just don't agree with).
Anyone who has played apex long enough knows they include hidden factors with their matchmaking, leaving them out just because you don't have a measure of it would be ludicrous and gives very limited perspectives.
I think your point is a little backwards which is probably why you're having trouble explaining it.
Yes they don't show accuracy at all in the stats, which I why I asked if it was a hidden factor because you really can't have damage without accuracy.
You can pray and spray but that really isn't going to help you out much at all unless you get lucky.
You can get damage without being very accurate
But your accuracy is your consistency to hit a target. The more shots you get, the more you can consistently hit head shots the more accurate you are and the more damage you do.
If you aren't hitting targets you aren't getting damage.
Accuracy has nothing to do with if you're willing to engage or not. That has to do with your play style and is entirely different.
Yet you want someone to be relentless..if I can't hit my targets, that relentlessness doesn't even matter cause I just get killed in the process.
Like-hey hold this squad down, but I can't hit them to keep them hiding and healing so we can push them, even though I'm being relentless with how I'm shooting at them. It just doesn't work well.
Imo that doesn't seem to me like damage should be held more important over your accuracy, especially since one can farm damage by letting opponents get back up and knocking them again, or eliminating downed opponents.
If accuracy isn't apart of the metric at all, seen or unseen, it really should be.
Thats just how I see it though, it's always nice to see others perspectives.
