Zero heirloom shards in 80 apex packs...
I opened 80 packs to find absolutely zero heirloom shards. Its the only reason i bought them. I don't give a * about a legendary banner for Gibraltar... complete ripoff and I want my money back.

That's not entirely correct. There is a chance to pull heirloom shards from every pack you open, but it's very low. According to the FAQ on the Apex Legends website the probability is less than 1% every time you open a pack.
The 500 pack number that people reference comes from the bad luck protection that's built into the game. This means that if you've opened 500 packs without ever pulling any heirloom shards you would be guaranteed to get them on the 500th pack. If you get lucky and randomly pull shards from a pack that would reset the bad luck counter back to zero and it would start counting back up to 500.

@EA_Kent What about us who didnt get the choice but the games coding picked for us? I am sad I just dropped another 200 + into packs for no shards so i can maybe get the 1 i want. While these new people get the choice of their own and i have to live with blood hound who i never play nor will i ever. I am sad was hoping with event going id have better chances but nope still having drop hundreds for 1 single item is little much. The rarity of these is beyond wrong with the amount money ive put in. Well over 1 thousand bucks. Just for heirlooms.. To have it picked for me. Is there nothing in the future coming to make this right?

I can understand where you're coming from, but that's the way the game was initially set up before the heirloom shards were introduced. I haven't heard if there are any plans to allow the option to exchange or refund an heirloom, I'm afraid.

- @EA_Kent Is shame just dropped another 300+ for no heirloom I just want my wraith. Completely unfair for us 500 who have zero chances with out dropping loads of cash into the game for 1 cosmetic. The irony here is it for me 2 times now ive got heirlooms 1 thousand dollars for those 2. Now im trying for another just so i can have the one i want as i get to choose now unlike before. I just feel 100% cheated.
- @EA_Kent So it’s basically $250-500 for a cosmetic... Seems reasonable. Also, it’s a new update. That said not how it was from the beginning and it’s very misleading. The normal gamer shouldn’t have to comb through patch notes to figure this out. I’ll still play the game, but I mean it when I say I will never buy another in game purchase from EA

I can definitely understand the frustration. This is feedback we've been hearing since the heirloom shards were introduced, and we have passed it along to the Apex Legends team.
If anything changes with this in the future we'll be sure to post an announcement to let everyone know.

- I love idea I spend o most 1500 on pack and I have all the heirloom expect pathfinder. And started at season 4. I’m lvl 200 too.
