A Different Perspective

We all hate cheaters yes i know. We wish there was none. Let's look at something here that a lot want to throw them under the bus for. With this ill be doing a comparison across many other games. Just to show people no matter the money made nothing can stop this problem. Yes Apex legends has made 2b in 2 years. It is a bit of money. Now lets compare.

GTA

First We have GTA 5 this game was launched in 2013. GTA 5 is third on the list of the best-selling video games of all time, only behind Minecraft and Tetris. Reports from Business Insider suggest that Rockstar Games made upwards of $6 billion from GTA 5, selling more than 110 million copies.

Call of Duty

Call of Duty' series has made over $27billion for Activision since 2003.

Fortnite

It managed to garner an addition 95 million users within the next 15 months. In March 2019, the game had more than 125 million players. Till date, 2018 has proved to be the most successful year for Fortnite, with earnings of more than $2.4 Billion in total.Fortnite creator Epic Games is now valued at $17.3 billion.

Valorant

The game has reportedly generated $20 billion in revenue over its lifetime. A member of Gen. G's "League of Legends" team practices ahead of a match.

With these comparisons we see that apex stands no chance in terms of revenue brought in from the time games launch. All of these games have cheaters. Some of these games came out in 2013 meaning cheating has been happening in said games for over 8 years now. If companies who make more money then apex can not stop cheaters what makes you think apex can. Those games have way more revenue then apex is even worth. Yet still have cheaters.

Moral of the story here. No one can stop them no matter the amount of money a company makes.

@E9ine_AC Well it just takes the right team working together to get the anticheat right. EA has a decent amount of revenue from other FPS titles.

I think they could probably boost sales with some modestly priced premium content here and there.

@DarthValtrex Well what i compare it to has 3 fps games. 3 that over take apex in a long run of revenue. If they can't stop cheaters with making up to 20+ billion who can afford to build their own anti cheats that dont stop cheaters. Just saying Apex 2 bil in 2 years times is chump change compared to competitors who actually some have built their own detection systems with full blown anti cheat staff. Even they cant stop cheaters with their very own anti cheat they created.

don't matter how many work there or how good someone thinks their anti cheat is. It can't and it won't be stopped. They can throw 20 bil to build their own anti cheat and it still would have cheaters. Hackers quite frankly know quite a bit more then anti cheat creators other wise they would not find ways in with in days of a game launching.

@E9ine_AC Cheaters exist in every aspect of life. They always will. It doesn't mean they shouldnt try to stop them.

@hayhor I agree but they are trying. I see it daily. Problem is people dog the crap out of them when thousands are banned each day. They act like they are doing nothing but sitting around making money. They are trying but people will never understand it because they cant see it.

@E9ine_AC People have these very narrow minded views about things being "easy". The only things that arent are things the complainers do. Suddenly they dont have the resources or enough time, etc.

@hayhor I don’t even think it’s that. I think they feel entitlement. Coding is one of the hardest things to do in this world (depends on which code, what kind of programmer you are and couple other factors), yet ppl think it’s easy as you said because they think ‘you’re just writing codes’. But the entitlement comes from them playing the games and want to have a good experience.

They have no perception of how to do the job and are usually too sheltered to even think about how it should go. Cause most adults who work are just doing their jobs but not doing all they can do within it. They make mistakes, don’t work as hard or as efficient as they could and so on. Yet these gamers want the devs to perfectly work on an imperfect engine that should make a perfect game run perfectly on imperfect servers perfectly all the time which is impossible cause there’s no such thing as a perfect code!

@Koochi-Q That is what I'm saying tho. I watch people I work with complain about others but when they make a mistake or dont get something done it is ok and no one should complain about them.
