A few opinions, nothing more

I’ve taken a small break from posting recently, and from the game in general, as I feel parched by the lack of content and the overwhelming number of cheaters. There hasn’t been anything new in the game for an entire month which has been quite boring for me personally, my best hope is that they are taking a break so that they can focus on banning and anti cheat. There have been insane cheats recently, to the point where it seems hackers have more control than the devs. If anyone has been around long enough to remember the save titanfall fiasco in season 9, you know what I’m talking about.

It makes me sad (and a bit annoyed) to see players literally spinning around in a circle while firing, and still managing to hit all their shots. I once spectated an entire team speed hacking. They were running at over full speed with their guns out. (not one was playing mad Maggie) The won the game with their hacks and I hope they get whatever is coming towards them, but I fear nothing is. There has also been a hacker kicking streamers such as imperial Hal and hiswattson. There has also been a hacker that actively streamed with leaks and hacks, and has yet to be caught. Please let me know if you agree with my sentiment on this matter, so we can help bring this to respawn and EA’s attention. Best wishes and happy gaming!

I have to assume that this is primarily a pc thing, which is one reason I don't really experience it. Another is that I would imagine that sbmm, even the train wreck sbmm this game has, would probably move these guys up the ladder and out of my way pretty quickly even if they were on console. Before banning them presumably. Or not apparently.

Everything I've ever heard about any competitive multiplayer game on pc says that eventually they all devolve into "cheaters takeover and kill game." Why would anyone want to play a multiplayer game on pc if this is even partly true?

@reconzero I play on console with cross play, and I don’t believe you should count out controller players in the world of cheats. Strike packs and other mods are relatively undetectable, but if you know what they do, it’s easy to report them. My point was with what a massive game apex is, you would think they would invest in ground breaking anti cheat research. I just wonder why they sit back at watch as their game is dismantled. Also sbmm most likely isn’t used in apex, or at least it leans heavily on the research they did on eomm (Engagement Optimized Matchmaking)

I agree that it seems logical on the surface that such a successful game would take the problem more seriously. And yet I can also see from a shareholder's point of view: "Why invest in anti-cheat if player population is steady or growing?" And when the population starts to decline shareholders will simply say: "All games die - if death is approaching for this one then there's no point in spending money on frippery like anti-cheat?" It's a self-reinforcing downward spiral.

@reconzero They have the option to let it die, or make it super successful. If the continuously invested back into their game, they could surpass any other game, making any other game obsolete. If they continued to invest in their game I believe the value would eventually surpass the initial cost.
