How does it work? Do they literally have to aim near their target and the assist helps them move the crosshairs onto the enemy?If so, how ballanced is to need less effort to keep your crosshair on your enemy?Not only that, if they don't control the recoil, it is possible that the aim assist helps with that aswell.

@Eshshshss Yeah it's pretty obvious when you're looking at a console player based on how they/we move. I can't judge the player's decision making much since this looks like a duo's match with no stakes. A lot of his play could just be him being aggressive in a game with no stakes. I'm more interested in your critique of his poor midrange accuracy since it might be unfair to judge a player's ability by the standards set using another input device.When crossplay was first mention both sides had their issues with it. Console players felt that M/KB was easier/more effective at landing distant shots and PC players complained about aim assist being introduced to their games. All players I've played against are FAR better at close range than long range so I assumed it would be the same for PC. It's only recently occurred to me that PC may struggle a bit more up close than controller due to the difference of Aim assist. This brings a simple question to mind."If the average M/KB player has better accuracy at range than the one in your video (although he was clearly under pressure from other squads in the area) how do the two compare at close range?" Bear in mind that the player in your video did not panic when the Path showed up but expected him. Even then his aim drifted from low and to the right (Path's feet), up and to the left (past Path's head) and back to the right of Path's head. Aim assist helps a player most when it comes to overcorrecting their aim and the player in your video still screwed up despite hearing the Path coming. So all that really makes me want to know the differences between the systems in combat instead of all this "M/KB is easier" or "Controllers have aimbot" nonsense.If my system is easier I'll own it but I'm not a fan of lies.Btw eliminating crossplay wouldn't effect console lobbies at all since you're basically stealing players from our player base for yours. You may not want them there but if anything they're boosting your lobby numbers.

@damsonwhufndthis so, how does it work? I do not even know. It looks like it does almost nothing for me anyway, I struggle to hit anything. Meanwhile here I am on MnK cracking shields consistently from afar with an R-301. I can't wrap my head around the controller = aimbot > MnK arguments, really.

@damsonwhufndthis @Eshshshss I know how it is supposed to work, it was a joke. Thing is, I do not perceive it. I still miss many of my shots and I really can't see where the aimbot arguments are coming from. That's it.

@damsonwhufndthis Aim assist slows your cross hair when it moves across the target zone. It does not snap a cross hair that doesn't aim at a player. I have hundreds of videos of myself spraying whole clips just past people.

@damsonwhufndthis AA (aim assist) does point for you nor control recoil for you. What it does is slow down you sensitivity when your reticle is is near an opponent. Others might have a better explanation for you.

The best way to know is to try it out for yourself on PC. I'll give you a hint, if controller is so strong then I would have boasted that I have a 4k badge on multiple legends which I have none (My best was 3.8k on Octane). None of the console teams even made it into the ALGS like what others have reported. Remember, there's always a reason why you died and it's rare to see someone just accept that the enemy is just better. People would usually blame lag, the servers, controllers, the map (like me lol), and other stuff. 😉

@damsonwhufndthis I believe of course this is open sourced information and i am not sure if EA actually does it this way but there are 3 types of aim assist and apex uses 2 of them claims are. One is guided aim assist and crosshair slow down. So it helps guide a little as well as slow down. Again this is not factual just what google plasters it.

@hayhoroh yo they just swipe across the general area of the enemy and the aim assist does the rest, gotcha, still kind of strong, is it off in ranked?

@damsonwhufndthis It is on all the time. Again, if you swipe in the general area but do not aim at the enemy, you'll miss every shot. You still have to aim at the enemy.

This video does a pretty adequate job at explaining how aim assist works in Apex. I've seen better ones, but i don't have extended time to search.

Of course, to understand how AA works could be achieved most easily by plugging in a controller and seeing for one's self.

Less effort to keep your crosshair on your enemy - if you are already good with tracking, yes, if you are trash, makes no difference as it can't compensate that much.

Don't control the recoil - it should not but who knows given how many loopholes there are in Apex recoil system, logics.

Long story short - AA helps controller players not to suck too much vs mouse and keyboard players while making good controller players even better, godlike (I have heard so many stories from players in ranked who were ex Pred on controller - and no, not only in early seasons - and hit low Masters at most on M&K) = it helps.

And even more it helps when people combine AA with M&K - that's your hackers, Predators and streamers or somtimes all 3 in 1.

@Cheese9Man Exactly! Not a single console team with strikepacks made it into the ALGS and pc players keep saying they get destroyed all the time by console players on their pc lobbys while there are very few console players in pc lobbys!!! Its exactly the opposite! PC players have many advantages; aiming with a mouse is easier, deathbox strafing only on pc, higher fps (up to 300 fps!!!) The privileged keeps on whining, it kills me.
