Dual wield is not a bad idea and it was proposed before (I even suggested a legend having this as an ability a while ago). But I'm not sure if it's worth it. A lot of new animations are needed (draw / holster / fire / reload / run with / crouch with 2 weapons simultaneously, etc), Other animations need to be adjusted or changed (Bangalore smoke, Octane stim) because they use the left hand while the legend can still shoot with the weapon in the right hand. UI needs to support the toggle between single / dual, differently kitted weapons need to be synchronized somehow, especially on the magazine side. The low time to kill / high fire rate can cause problems when lag is present (hit regs, getting killed in apparently 1 shot, much lower time frame for someone with a higher ping to react, etc.).
Double tap is a very clever way to bring the vibe of dual wielding in Apex, while being much more development friendly.
