@Cheese9Man NC is def alternative "can't understand why people thought he could just replace Gibby completely without Gibbs getting nerfed". First weakness is that he can't protect from over head unless Wattson is on the team. Won a fight and eventually the game because of this combination, match up wise the other team is forced is either waste resource to destroy a individual wall or push closer. It sounds like a cozy situation but another match showed that Rampart could easily stop this at the cost of planting her ult and her wall "You need to plant cause it will still cost alot of ammo for each wall, but planting gives a infinite supply and damage boost helps to quickly destroy em." Fuse can also achieve similar results with his tactical.
Fun facts - messing around alone in firing range shown me some bugs, not sure if it's limited to range tho. Ults that damage "Gib, Bang, Fuse, Crypto - cause it damages / destroys other set ups" has no effect on the wall itself, but tacticals do "Mag, Valk, Fuse". Mag's ult can potentially phase through a wall "needs to bounce once tho". Would like to see if somebody else can replicate these with 2 people, or if it was just my stupidity cause technically they were my castle walls the whole time.

pfft, right now Respawn has absolutely trashed Rampart. Along with other trash characters, they're not going to improve her far as I can see. It's typical short sightedness and I don't even care about ALGS, it has to do with the character and, you know, the actual real people who play ( 😉 )
I think it is pretty clear that paying attention to balance by 'pros' and streamers basically causes a lot of the garbage and bad game play you see. On the surface, it makes sense to game companies...those are the people who know the game best, right? So everyone will benefit from their knowledge?
Couldn't be farther from the truth. Games are meant to be entertaining and the abomination of vision that is so skewed from those people pretty much misses what the 95% or whatever it is of people play the game. And that's who is paying for skins and making the company money. To a degree a pro scene and streamer scene to from promotion, but that all falls apart when their advice causes more loss of players than their promotion. Overwatch is the prime example of a game that insisted on screwing up in so many ways, and this for sure is one of them.
How it applies to Apex is people need to stop considering that ALGS is the end all be all of the game. As has been mentioned, pros will simply play whatever is most effective and broken, and it's really Respawn's problem if that makes the game boring. If characters were balanced and you aren't going to get that from words the pros say, but watching what they do (and you know that is two totally different things) you might start having a better game. It still doesn't work because if a character isn't played from scrub to pro level, that character is designed like dog poo, but it is a start.
Pros and streamers, I hate say it, need games, not the other way around. Sure, at a certain point it becomes an incestuous relationship, but the game company is the one in business and needs to call the shots. The pro scene will always adjust because they have to, but you're game will be super dead if it is so bad that only people who make money from playing your game want to play it.
I'd say the problem is not Gibby, it is that Respawn had made trash more than half their roster, but particularly there are 5-6 characters, 25%, that are super garbage. If Respawn actually did their job and brought the bottom tier up, you wouldn't have Gibby so dominant...or an immediate go to Caustic if Gibby is nerfed. It's not the pros fault in this case, and listening to them right now is a particularly bad idea. Respawn needs to restore the issues they made themselves for the game that everyone plays.
