    Like many things in a BR game, whether something is effective or ineffective, entertaining or boring, is highly circumstantial.

    There are two things which can make defensive characters suck:

    1. Solo autofilling. Your teammates are likely to play as if you don't exist, which makes most attempts at support or territory control a complete waste. If you have a working team though, you can really set the stage. Never underestimate having a doorway that enemies can't follow you through.

    2. The mid-game. After the dust settles from the hot-drop, and before the ring forces the final squads into very close quarters, most players get an opportunity to take a breather and there is little pressure for enemies to get near you or your traps. Of course this might not be the case if you stay near the epicentre of the action from start to finish (also known as fragments).

@Alphabets rampart can definitely be used aggressively if you have good positioning. one of My favorite things to do with rampart is to pull surprise attacks on enemies with Sheila

Wattson is absolutely not boring at all, not if you bother to know what you are doing with her.

Way more interesting than Octane, Pathfinder or Wraith spam, sorry.

But of COURSE, what you probably mean is Respawn has trashed the Defensive characters with every season, and sure, if you want to win now, you can't really play Wattson or Rampart or most of them at all.  Oh, or better said, if you can win with Wattson, you could win more with any other character in the game because she's been nerfed so horribly after Horizon and Valkyrie, not to mention certain parts of the design of maps like Olympus.

It's been 4 ish seasons I've been wanting a buff to Wattson that matters.  But no, Respawn, go on, add another character that bypasses fences. :P

    @KelRiever  they need to just bring back s2 wattson. She was brilliant then.

      @MandatoryIDtag You mean unlimited ultimate? I think that was the only serious change they made on her abilities, but that still make her good for ranked-competitive, not a fun legend.

      I think "fun" in Apex somehow can be equal to "better mobility", or a escape way for legend to let them run, recover and get back to fight, waiting in a close building and putting traps or fences and praying to RNG gods so that zone ends on you is not very interesting

        @Alphabets The damage change doesnt mean anything to me. As caustic in those 3 seconds you should be shooting a slowed opponent and you take more bullets to kill so you should win the fight.

        To make him fun again he needs some mobility or some ability such as throwable quick setting barrels. Even that wouldnt mean much as they made the map buildings less caustic friendly. Realistically the way this game is going every legend needs some mobility aspect or they will be left behind.

      @MandatoryIDtag I miss killing old wattsons setup in KC houses by blocking their doors and chucking barrels through windows.

        @hayhor  Thats the thing, there was always a hard counter in place, exactly what you just stated lol. However because people refused to learn caustic back then and called him trash, wattson got nerfed into oblivion lol. 😛

        @Alphabets  That was certainly one way of playing those legends, and like you said it wasn't a fun way at all,It just wasn't that effective at all in my opinion.

        Wattson for example, when I actually played her actively I wouldn't use fences throughout most of the game, and just use her ult, my third premade buddy at the time was a pathfinder, so we'd just run an aggressive match he'd hit every survey beacons we'd pass and more often than not we'd end up first to the last circle. It was just a simple matter of dropping a defensive setup over that area.

        As for the change you used to be able to drop more than one of her ults, but they didn't have a timer either yes.
