Am I doing something wrong?

@ClubDreadIt's SBMM and if you're average damage is around 500 you're definitely in the top 15% or more of players. I'd guess the average player probably doess less than 300 damage a round, more like 200-250. Above average players are in the 300-400 range and the top 15-10% are 500+
My average KD this season is hovering around 1.18-1.21 with average damage around 390-420 (it depends how the night/day goes). I bounce in and out of the top tier lobbies. When I'm having a good night I end up in lobbies with multiple predator/master trails coming out of the drop ship...
Just because you don't have 15,000 kills does not mean you're not as good as they are. It simply means they have played the game for a longer period of time and probably invested more hours into the game.
These players can be killed. You probably have killed them before. The issue is you don't know or realize you've killed them. But when they kill you, you know it.
Sure it can be hard and there is little margin for error. But you can take them down and you probably have.
If you want to get better and compete with them.. Spectate them when they kill you and take note of their game play. What I have noticed with most top tier players. They know when to disengage and when to finish off the fight. They don't always land all their shots and when they don't they often pull back pop a batt and give it another try.
