Apex badly needs new game modes

I can certainly say that this post resonates with me. Even though I do enjoy queueing solo and meeting random teammates I don't get a lot of time in the evening to play. When I launch I expect that I will have to sift through a number of non-starters before I get a decent match to roll with and that is not how I want to spend the precious couple of hours I have before I need to go to bed.
It seems silly to me that people would argue against a new mode (such as solos). Other modes do not have any repercussions on the core mode, the player base is still hanging in there well. I've seen people carrying purist attitudes, stating that it's not what the game is about. So what? Even though skill does have an impact, Battle Royales rely on too many unpredictable, unreadable elements to be truly competitive shooters. And that goes extra when the game is lacking skill based matchmaking. It's a FUN game before anything else.
Fun games need stuff. Things. Content. Even more than balance or those silly novelties found in the battle pass. I probably wouldn't roll solo too much but at least I would have some peace of mind knowing that non-team players (who for some reason play team games) would at least be redirected from the mode that I enjoy. There are still more than enough players on PC for both.
I would even take more maps (made for larger or smaller servers idc). It doesn't matter if they looked like they were made by someone who has only had a day of experience with map making. The longer I play the smaller Kings Canyon feels.
P.S. It might be ambitious but what I really want to see are new weapon categories for separate queues. For example a queue that only has explosive weapons. Rockets, grenade launchers, landmines etc. Or a mode with actual melee weapons which come with their own quirks and perks.

- People don't want Solos not because Apex should stay with only one mode but because there are different things Devs could prioritize before that. For example "fixing already existing problems and then adding Solo/Duo mode".
You see: Apex has things that can be improved and problems that must be fixed. Solo mode won't fix all this. It will take away players who can't play in random team, sure. But this mode most likely will also create it's own unique problems. So we might end up with more mess that we already have.
People also ask for a new mode - Competitive mode. A same Team-based game but that rates your skill and searches somewhat equal players for your game. Bad players ask for this. Pro players ask for this. Imagine a mode where you don't jump the most crowded spot just to run and gun but actually will think twice before engaging - risk->reward gamestyle now has an actual risk and people won't leave instantly due to stakes. Maybe this should be added before Solo/Duo.Games been out what 2 months.

2 months and they have released nothing when it comes to content. A new gun and a new legend that will keep people entertained for about 5 seconds.
The games matchmaking is still terrible. No progression in the game. People want Ranked/Solos or some substantial content to put time into not stupid shallow crap, people were hoping the battlepass would add to the game it was completely pointless though.
