Do the Devs at apex need fresh ideas to try and tackle the rampant cheating problem? Or have they given up entirely? The reason i ask is because cheating in apex has been a problem for years now but seems worse than ever before. While it might be a difficult problem to solve i thought by now we might have some solutions. I can think of several effective solutions that would still allow cheaters to keep playing.
Well, as it turns out, part of the problem in learning about different AntiCheat platforms is that their creators don't seem to want people to know too much about them or how they work.
Yes, there are various forms of AI being employed by the AntiCheat in the games you mentioned. Which is great. But unless I'm misunderstanding how AI works, any single one of these developers would have to employ a full time server farm to be able to police every player in their game in real time. I'm sure they have ways of red-flagging potential cheaters for closer scrutiny, so the server farm requirement may be a little over-stated. But let's don't forget that developers have an interest in marketing their products with catchy buzzwords like "AI" and that doesn't always mean what we imagine it means. For example, from what I could read on the matter, none of the games you mentioned has an AntiCheat with anything like universal praise. Vanguard seems to be acknowledged as the most robust of the group, but some people say that it's far from perfect. Who knows?
Again, only going by what I read, AntiCheats with an AI component definitely seem to be moving us in the right direction, but maybe aren't the magic bullet we would all like them to be? Or at least not yet?
Any first-hand experience with any of the games you mentioned? The only one I ever played was PUBG, and the things I was witnessing in that game (at least six years ago) made me very confident that the game didn't even have an AntiCheat, at least not at the time. If things are better there now then I'm glad to hear it.
