Like you, I prefer the long game to a hot drop. If I want a KILL KILL KILL session I play TDM or Gun Run.
My advice is, like others, played ranked. Okay, so Rookie and Bronze are very PUBS-like but in Silver, it all gets a bit more tactical and you should get TMs who actually run from fights they can't win instead of going against a 3-stacked with purple armour with white armour and a P2020.
Also, git gud with a support legend (mine is LL) and go with them if you're picking third (or even second) and your squad doesn't have a support legend. Crafting banners is a get out of jail card. Three times this season I've had wins where I was left last man standing after an early fight and then respawned my TMs via crafted banners.
I mean, this is true, except as mentioned, the blame is in the wrong place?
Respawn marketed the game in a certain way. You SEE movie clips of characters doing backflips and acing people in one shot, and then like killing 3 more people. So, yeah, that's the game people thought they downloaded.
But what you really get is a character having to hit an enemy with a million bullets because they are a pure sponge. And that only happens at the end of the game because for 45 minutes prior, they run around, hiding, and picking up loot.
False advertising, really. But then again, Respawn couldn't actually advertise the way their game actually plays because nobody would buy it. Better for them to lie and then have you figure it our later, right? :P
MMFPS players are mostly toxic and ridiculous no matter what game you are playing. That said, the matchmaking, ineffective anti-cheat, & complete disregard for smurfing in Apex all contribute to your experience. I know because my experience is your experience.

Edit: Oh, man. Wouldn't this song make a perfect S19 trailer? I can see Octane one-clipping people and Pathfinder high-fiving downed opponents.
The game is being cultivated to help the casual gamer. The whole match used to be like 25 minutes tops people were only ratting of they had lost both teammates and couldn't get them back. Now you have entire squads sitting in buildings spam crouching while looking at each other for 10 minutes straight till circle forces them to move locations and you can't even fight a team without 4 teams sniping you from across the map. They claim it's to make it more competitive but when did camping long enough to go take a fat * become competitive gameplay?
Yeah i read all the patch updates before I deleted the next season is gonna be worse because now if you play solo you're for sure going to get garbage teammates because anyone good is going to squad up for sure now.
